Pirates of the Rebellion

Writer's Note: I wrote this a year ago, I just wanted to share it-- It was my fixation for months, but I slowly got bored and got mentally blocked from continuing the story.

A band of outlaws, once feared as ruthless pirates, unite under a common goal: to free their realm (The Skellari Archipelago) from a brutal invasion by a foreign empire (The Dominion of Helgred). Though branded as criminals and outcasts by the kingdoms of the realm, these pirates find themselves as the realm’s last hope. The twist? The kingdoms still hunt them, even as they fight to save everyone from the invaders.

The realm is divided into several warring kingdoms, all weakened by internal power struggles. This chaos opens the door for an invading empire to conquer the realm, ravaging its cities and enslaving its people. While the kings and nobles squabble for power and riches, a group of pirates, who were once scattered and pursued for their crimes, come together to resist the invasion.

Each pirate has their own backstory, from betrayed noblemen to exiled soldiers, or simple thieves and sailors who lost everything to the invaders. Despite their differences, they unite with a single goal: to rid the realm of the foreign threat. However, the kingdoms they are fighting for see them as a greater threat than the invaders, offering bounties for their capture or death. This forces the pirates to wage war on two fronts—against the invaders and against the very people they are trying to save.

Key Elements

The pirate crew is bound together by a shared desire for freedom, but each member carries a complex and personal backstory. Some have been wronged by the very kingdoms they now fight to protect, while others seek revenge or redemption. Their motivations often clash, yet their loyalty to the crew and their common enemy—the invading empire—keeps them united.

Caught in a dual conflict, the pirates must constantly evade both the empire’s warships and the kingdoms’ military forces, which see them as criminals rather than heroes. As they battle the invaders on the high seas, they are also hunted by bounty hunters and naval officers who refuse to recognize their cause. The ocean becomes their battleground, where they raid enemy supply lines, sink warships, and launch daring assaults on fortified coastal cities. Their knowledge of pirate tactics and naval warfare gives them a fighting chance, but every victory comes with a cost.

Moral dilemmas are ever-present. Do they risk their lives to save a kingdom that once betrayed them? Should they sacrifice personal gain for the greater good? Forced to operate in morally grey areas, they must sometimes make uneasy alliances with dangerous figures or turn their backs on their own in order to survive. Trust is fleeting, and shifting allegiances keep the stakes high. Some kingdoms, desperate for their help, secretly offer riches or pardons, while others betray them the moment they are no longer useful. The crew must constantly reassess who their true allies are and navigate an ever-changing political landscape.

The story is filled with epic battles, from large-scale naval warfare to covert sabotage missions deep in enemy territory. The pirates rely on their cunning and skill to outmaneuver both the empire and the kingdoms that seek to control them. With the wind at their backs and the sea as their battlefield, they fight not just for survival, but for the freedom to forge their own destinies.

Persephone Juno M. Salvatierra's Backstory

Early Life

Persephone Thérèse M. Salvatierra, affectionately called "Persie" or "Seppie" by those closest to her, was born into a humble, lower-class family in the treacherous yet neutral region of the East of Skellari. The East, while not as politically volatile as other parts of the kingdom, was riddled with danger due to the rough environment, wild terrain, and frequent raids by rogue factions. It was here that Persephone’s life unfolded in a mix of nurturing love, unfulfilled dreams, and violent tragedy.

Her mother, Marisel, dreamed of grooming her daughter into a "proper lady," marrying her off to a nobleman who could elevate the family’s social status. A deeply traditional woman, Marisel enrolled Persephone in etiquette classes from a young age, hoping she would eventually find favor in high society. She was taught embroidery, dance, and the art of conversation. Though Persephone participated, her heart wasn’t in these lessons.

On the other hand, Persephone’s father, Ivan D. Salvatierra, once a proud knight of Darnaveth, instilled a warrior's spirit in her. Ivan had lost his prestigious position due to unfounded accusations of treason—rumors that had tarnished his reputation and plunged their family into poverty. Undeterred by his downfall, Ivan focused on training Persephone in combat. Starting as early as five years old, she trained with him in the rough backyard of their modest home. By seven, Persephone was already a skilled fighter, displaying unnatural strength and reflexes far beyond her age, as if some otherworldly force coursed through her veins. Her relationship with her father was her greatest source of joy, and his lessons shaped her more than anything her mother tried to impart.

Becoming a Knight

At age seven, Persephone was scouted by the kingdom of Darnaveth to join the ranks of knights-in-training, despite her young age. Her remarkable abilities quickly made her a star pupil. She formed close bonds with General Tiberius, the gruff yet warm-hearted leader of the knights and the uncle of Princess Esmerelda, heir to the throne. Tiberius became a father figure to Persephone, filling the void of her absent father. She also grew close to Esmerelda herself, who, unlike the typical sheltered princess, sought to train alongside the knights. The two girls, along with a fellow knight-in-training named Emmett, became an inseparable trio.

However, Persephone’s personal life crumbled when she was 12. Her father, Ivan, was executed in the town square—falsely accused of treason by the corrupt regime he once served. Persephone was there to witness the hanging, her world shattered in an instant. She was devastated but forced herself to carry on, knowing it was what her father would have wanted. Despite her grief, she dedicated herself to her knight training, even though her mother vehemently opposed it, claiming that the knighthood had stolen her husband and would ruin her daughter too. Still, Persephone persisted, determined to honor her father’s legacy and protect those she loved.

The Redhaven Incident

At 15, Persephone accompanied Princess Esmerelda and Emmett on an expedition to Redhaven, a volatile kingdom in the South of Skellari. The region was infamous for bandit raids and frequent skirmishes, and their mission was politically sensitive. For the first few days, their stay in Redhaven was peaceful. The teenagers shared lighthearted moments, balancing their responsibilities with the carefree attitudes of youth. But the tranquility was shattered by a massive invasion orchestrated by bandits and rival empires.

During the chaos, Esmerelda was hidden in a safe house, heavily guarded by Persephone and Emmett. One night, the bandits breached the house. As Persephone fought to protect Esmerelda, she ordered Emmett to escape with the princess, sacrificing her chance to flee. She fought valiantly, using all the skills her father had taught her, but eventually, she was overpowered and captured.

For the next 15 days, Persephone endured unimaginable horrors. Held in a bandit camp, she was subjected to torture, both physical and psychological. The captors, recognizing her strength and “fuckability,” used her as a "comfort woman." She fought back fiercely each time, but she was still a child, no match for the grown men who systematically broke her down. Every attempt at defiance was met with cruelty, and her body became a battlefield for her tormentors. By the time Darnaveth knights rescued her, Persephone was a hollow shell of herself.

Recovery and Return

Following her rescue, Persephone’s friends—Esmerelda and Emmett—were desperate to help her heal, but she refused to speak, staring blankly into the distance. Her once lively personality was gone. Her recovery took over a month, and while she resumed her duties as a knight, it was clear that she was no longer the same girl. She fought mechanically, driven only by muscle memory and a sense of duty. She began to distance herself emotionally from everyone, becoming cold and detached. At 17, Persephone made the difficult decision to exile herself from Darnaveth. She could no longer serve a kingdom that had wronged her family, that had put her in danger, and that was steeped in corruption.

Alone and Adrift

After leaving Darnaveth, Persephone returned to the East, hoping to reunite with her mother. But by the time she arrived, the region had fallen into chaos. Bandits had overrun her hometown, leaving nothing but destruction in their wake. Amid the carnage, Persephone discovered that her mother had died in the conflict, her exact fate unknown. Standing amidst the rubble of her old life, Persephone felt utterly alone.

As she wandered through the devastated town, she stumbled upon a young girl, no more than six years old, crying amidst the ruins. The sight of the helpless child stirred something deep within Persephone—a fierce protective instinct. She couldn’t let the girl suffer the same fate she had. She took the child in, naming her "Mira," and vowed to protect her like a little sister.

Pirate Life to Velkaris

By the time she was 19, Persephone had taken on various freelance jobs, doing anything to survive. Eventually, she found work as a pirate—a lone, independent pirate who took to the seas in search of safer lands. With Mira by her side, Persephone set sail for the North, hoping to find a place where they could both start anew, far from the dangers and traumas that had defined her past.

Despite everything she had endured, Persephone retained a spark of humor and lightness, using her wit to cope with the pain buried deep inside. To those around her, she was seen as the comic relief—a charismatic, quick-witted, and clever fighter who kept spirits high. But beneath the surface, she struggled daily with her inner demons, masking her trauma with laughter and bravado.

Ambrose Louise C. Mignon

Early Life

Ambrose Louise C. Mignon was born into the oppressive environment of Emberlyn, a region in the Northeast of Skellari. Though it wasn’t the poorest part of the land, it was riddled with social hierarchies that kept the working class, including his family, in subservient roles. His parents, Aimee and Benjamin, were overworked and bound by their jobs—Aimee as a laundry maid for a duchess, and Benjamin as an Ætherheart miner. The Ætherheart mines were notorious for dangerous conditions, and workers were treated more like slaves than employees. Benjamin, caught in the grueling cycle of extraction for Skellari’s precious resource, was rarely present at home. As for Aimee, her days were filled with endless laundering duties, often leaving Ambrose in the care of his aunt, Farah Cuvillier, when he was just five years old.

Farah, a brothel worker by trade, was a woman full of sass, warmth, and brutal honesty. She was raising two younger children of her own, making her household chaotic yet full of love. Despite her tough profession, Farah was fiercely protective and nurturing, especially to Ambrose. She also possessed a natural talent for sewing, which she used as a part-time seamstress to make ends meet. Ambrose, captivated by the way she turned fabric into beauty, took to sewing as well. By the time he was ten, his skills had blossomed into something remarkable, a prodigious talent for design and stitching. Sewing became his creative escape and his passion, a refuge from the rigid societal expectations that surrounded him.

Adolescence and Trauma

At the age of 14, Ambrose was enrolled in an all-boys school, an opportunity his parents worked hard to provide despite their limited finances. Though Emberlyn had an elitist upper class, there were occasional chances for the lower classes to access education, and his parents hoped this school would provide a better future for him. However, the experience quickly became a nightmare.

Ambrose's vibrant personality, combined with his extreme femininity, made him a target for bullying. His bright clothing choices, delicate mannerisms, and outspoken charm stood in stark contrast to the rigid masculinity valued at the school. At first, the bullying was verbal—insults, name-calling, and mockery. But it soon escalated to something far darker. During a physical education class, Ambrose was ambushed by a group of twelve boys. They beat him relentlessly, leaving him bloodied and bruised. The school officials dismissed the attack as "boys being boys," and the perpetrators received little more than a slap on the wrist. When Ambrose returned home, his father—frustrated and hardened by his own life’s struggles—beat him further, furious that Ambrose hadn't defended himself.

Shattered by the incident, Ambrose found solace only in Farah, who became his unwavering support. Outraged by what had happened, she pulled Ambrose out of the school, choosing to homeschool him while teaching him

Adolescence and Trauma (Continued)

At 16, Ambrose’s life took another dark turn. While delivering a beautiful gown he had sewn for a noble lady, he found himself on the wrong side of town. As he maneuvered through the bustling streets of Emberlyn, he was spotted by several of the boys who had tormented him at school. They cornered him in a narrow alley, cutting off his escape. The encounter turned brutal as they unleashed their pent-up rage, beating him mercilessly. In a horrific act of violence, they sexually assaulted him, leaving him broken and terrified.

After the ordeal, Ambrose stumbled home, sobbing and terrified, his clothing stained with blood and his spirit shattered. Farah was there when he returned, immediately sensing something was gravely wrong. Seeing him in such a state, she rushed to comfort him, her heart breaking as he recounted the nightmare he had just endured. Furious and determined to seek justice, Farah marched to confront the boys' families, but their noble status shielded them from accountability. When she made a scene, she was arrested, and the legal system—a twisted reflection of the societal hierarchies—turned a blind eye to Ambrose's plight.

With Farah detained for a week, Ambrose was left to care for his two younger cousins, who were still toddlers. Juggling the responsibilities of cooking, cleaning, and soothing frightened children while wrestling with his own trauma took an immense toll on him. He was determined to be the anchor for his family, even as he felt himself breaking inside.

Despite the psychological scars from that fateful day, Ambrose threw himself into his passion for sewing. He channeled his trauma into his work, designing and creating clothes that were not only functional but artful. He set up a small shop in a corner of Emberlyn, selling garments to local women and men. Over time, his talent became recognized, and he began to make a decent profit, which allowed him to provide for Farah and his cousins upon her release from jail.

The Path to Velkaris

By the time Ambrose turned 18, he had become a well-respected seamster in Emberlyn, though the trauma of his past still haunted him. He hid his true feelings and suppressed his femininity, presenting a more masculine façade to the world as a protective measure. His flamboyant sense of style and gentle nature remained hidden, concealed under layers of self-doubt and fear of judgment.

Ambrose's reputation eventually caught the attention of a renowned seamstress in Velkaris, the Crown of the Archipelago. Recognizing his talent, she invited him to become her assistant. This was a dream opportunity, a chance to escape Emberlyn and the memories that suffocated him. He took a leap of faith, leaving behind the ruins of his past, hoping for a brighter future.

New Beginnings in Velkaris

Upon arriving in Velkaris, Ambrose was enchanted by the vibrant city and its rich culture. The bustling markets, colorful fabrics, and creative energy inspired him in ways he had never imagined. Under the tutelage of the professional seamstress, he flourished, honing his craft and learning the intricacies of high fashion design.

With each dress he sewed, each stitch he made, Ambrose felt a sense of liberation. He began to rediscover his true self, slowly allowing his femininity to peek through the walls he had built around his heart. Velkaris was a place where he could express himself freely, surrounded by artists and creatives who understood the power of self-expression.

Despite the trauma he carried, Ambrose found solace in his work. He channeled his pain into beautiful garments, creating pieces that were not only stylish but also told stories of resilience and hope. He became known not just for his skills, but also for the depth of emotion woven into every creation.

As he earned a steady income, Ambrose was able to send money back to Farah and his cousins in Emberlyn, ensuring they had food and resources. He began to dream of one day opening his own boutique, a safe haven for those like him who wished to express themselves without fear.

Dahlia Lane G. Ritchie

Early Life and Family Dynamics

Dahlia Lane G. Ritchie was born into the wealth of House Ritchie, a noble family that had risen to prominence through dubious dealings. Unlike the old-money aristocrats, her parents’ wealth was born from scamming other noble families and engaging in schemes hidden under layers of charm and luxury. They quickly climbed the ranks of the Skellari elite, painting themselves as upstanding nobles despite their criminal undertakings. However, no one dared question them due to their social power and outward facade of generosity and sophistication.

Dahlia was the youngest and only daughter, following two older brothers, Corey and Isaiah. Corey and Isaiah doted on their little sister in a stereotypical, patronizing way. They adored her but didn’t take her seriously, seeing her as a pretty accessory to the family. This treatment only deepened her frustration and growing resentment toward her family. Her parents, Duke Carlos and Duchess Danica, were distant, hardly showing her any affection or guidance. Instead, they left Dahlia to be raised by nannies, tutors, and a steady flow of wealth. She was spoiled with the finest clothes, books, and trinkets money could buy but was starved of the parental love she truly needed.

From a young age, Dahlia learned to mask her intelligence and wit, knowing her parents only saw her as a pretty young noblewoman, expected to play her role and one day marry well. Her parents valued obedience and control above all else, not wanting their daughter to "embarrass" the family by acting out of line. This pressure to conform stifled Dahlia, pushing her toward her own inner rebellion.

Confronting the Dark Truth

By the age of 13, Dahlia had begun to unravel the true nature of her family’s wealth. Through snippets of overheard conversations and her innate curiosity, she pieced together the reality of her parents’ underhanded schemes and realized the riches she enjoyed were tainted by deceit and betrayal. Disturbed by this revelation, she confronted her parents in a rare moment of defiance. However, rather than denying it, they patronizingly told her it was “for the family” and that they had done what was necessary to maintain their status. They brushed off her concerns, dismissing her anger as childish naivety.

This exchange shattered whatever respect Dahlia still held for her parents. While she may have enjoyed her spoiled lifestyle, she found herself deeply uncomfortable knowing it was all built on lies and exploitation. A bitterness took root in her heart, and she began to question everything her parents had taught her. She saw her parents as hypocrites, forcing her into a mold of perfection while hiding their own sins behind the gilded walls of House Ritchie.

Teenage Rebellion and Consequences

Fueled by resentment, Dahlia began to rebel. At 14, she started sneaking out at night, slipping past her guards and finding solace in the rowdy, unfiltered world outside her family’s estate. She frequented pubs, mingled with commoners, and discovered the heady freedom of doing what she pleased without her parents’ prying eyes. She even started experimenting with alcohol, desperate for some form of control over her life. One night, she met a young man in a local pub, handsome and charming, a temporary escape from the rigid world she was trapped in. As they left together, she didn’t realize he was a friend of her brothers until she was caught, his arm slung casually around her shoulders as they walked.

The incident sent shockwaves through her family. Her brothers were furious, her parents humiliated. Dahlia’s night of freedom led to a severe punishment, one that further highlighted her parents’ harsh, controlling natures. Rather than addressing her feelings, they focused on silencing her, locking her in her room and forbidding her from ever leaving the estate. For two years, Dahlia was imprisoned within the walls of her home, isolated from the world and reduced to nothing more than an ornament of the family name.

A New Prison - The All-Girls School

At 16, after an explosive confrontation with her parents over breakfast, where her anger and despair culminated in a rage-fueled episode that left the dining room in ruins, Dahlia's parents decided she was too unruly to be kept at home. They sent her to an elite all-girls school, one with strict rules, curfews, and a curriculum designed to break “rebellious” girls into obedient young ladies. It was another prison, this time dressed in the guise of education. But unlike her family estate, the school wasn’t completely isolated; Dahlia found herself drawn to a small group of girls who shared her rebellious streak.

Under the veil of night, Dahlia and her friends would sneak out, breaking curfew to wander the grounds or visit nearby towns under cover of darkness. She clung to these small acts of rebellion as her last semblance of freedom. However, her parents’ abuse and the all-girls school’s suffocating rules began to affect her emotionally and psychologically. The trauma of her parents’ neglect, manipulation, and emotional abuse gnawed at her, leaving her hardened, suspicious, and often depressed. Dahlia became guarded, unwilling to let anyone too close for fear of being hurt or betrayed.

Though spoiled and entitled, Dahlia’s upbringing had taught her empathy for those she chose to care about. She showed surprising kindness and protectiveness toward her friends, often hiding her own pain behind a quick wit and a sharp tongue. Her intelligence and cunning also shone through—she learned to manipulate teachers and play mind games with her peers, a skill she’d honed in her cold, unforgiving home. She masked her true feelings behind sarcasm and her chilly demeanor, her vulnerability locked away like a precious secret.

Seeking Freedom

Now in her teenage years, Dahlia harbors a desperate desire to escape her family’s legacy, the abusive cycle of control, and the lies that have tainted her life. She dreams of breaking free from her parents' influence, of carving out a life where she can be truly herself, without the shadow of her family’s crimes looming over her. Her rebellion is fueled not just by youthful defiance, but by a yearning to find purpose, identity, and freedom beyond the gilded prison of her family’s wealth.

Dahlia’s journey is one of self-discovery and resilience as she battles the trauma inflicted by her parents, the scars of isolation, and the pressure to conform. She is both a product of her privileged upbringing and a victim of it, struggling to reconcile her entitlement with a genuine desire to do good. Despite her flaws, Dahlia’s intelligence, loyalty to her friends, and fierce determination hint at a girl who could someday rise above her family’s sins and build a life on her own terms.

Opal ‘Bryce’ D. Kennedy

Early Life and Family Dynamics

Opal Kennedy was born in the picturesque town of Sylvantaire, nestled in the West of Skellari. She was the only child of Claire and Gerry Kennedy, a loving couple who dedicated their lives to nurturing their child. Claire, a housewife, and Gerry, a local baker, created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and sweetness. Their home was an oasis of positivity, where the smell of freshly baked bread mingled with the scent of blooming flowers from Claire's garden. However, their idyllic life carried an air of naivety; they seemed blissfully unaware of the harsher realities of the world beyond their cozy existence.

From a young age, Opal was raised under the expectations of traditional gender norms. Claire and Gerry lovingly referred to their only child as “Bryce,” grooming her to be a model of masculinity. They enrolled her in an all-boys school, hoping to provide her with the best education and instill values of strength and responsibility. Yet, despite their good intentions, Opal always felt out of place, grappling with a sense of disconnection from the identity imposed upon her.

Awakening to Identity

At the age of 9, Opal began to feel an unsettling dissonance within herself. While her parents nurtured her in an environment overflowing with love, Opal struggled to fit into the mold of the boy they envisioned her to be. One fateful day, curiosity got the better of her; while her parents were out, she ventured into her mother’s room and tried on a few articles of clothing, along with some makeup. In that moment of self-discovery, she felt a sense of liberation and beauty that she had never experienced before. The soft fabrics and vibrant colors enveloped her like a warm hug, making her feel more alive than she ever had as “Bryce.”

This experimentation continued for about a year, bringing her both joy and trepidation. The elation of expressing herself was always tinged with fear, knowing that if her parents discovered her secret, their reaction could shatter her world. The moment came when her mother unexpectedly walked in on her, and terror gripped Opal's heart. She braced herself for rejection and disappointment, anticipating that her parents would disown her for not being the son they hoped for.

To her immense relief, Claire and Gerry responded with understanding and compassion. They embraced her, assuring her that their love was unconditional and that all they truly wanted was for her to be happy. This moment of acceptance marked a turning point in Opal’s life; it was a moment of both joy and anxiety, igniting a desire to live authentically while navigating a world that often stigmatizes those who diverge from the norm.

A Naive Optimism

Although her parents’ love provided a safe haven, it also had its drawbacks. The sheltered environment left Opal somewhat naive, ill-prepared for the complexities and harsh realities of life. As she transitioned into adolescence, she found herself burdened with an overwhelming sense of positivity, which she often forced upon others. Even in the most serious situations, her cheerful demeanor sometimes felt out of place, causing her to be perceived as an outcast despite her well-meaning intentions. People knew her and respected her, but her constant cheerfulness often led to eye-rolls and whispered judgments behind her back.

Opal's naivety made her vulnerable; she clung to positivity as a shield against the realities of a world that could be harsh and unforgiving. She became known as "Flowerchild," a moniker reflecting her bright spirit and tendency to overlook the darker aspects of life. Her incessant optimism, however, began to alienate her from peers who saw her as frivolous or even delusional.

The Struggles of Adolescence

As Opal entered her teenage years, her identity as a trans woman began to clash with societal expectations. The world outside her home was far less accepting than her parents had been, and she faced challenges that left her feeling isolated. While she had come out to her parents, the broader community still struggled with understanding and acceptance. At school, she encountered both admiration and disdain from her peers, leading to a tumultuous social landscape that often felt at odds with her cheerful disposition.

Despite her cheerful front, Opal grappled with feelings of loneliness and despair. She was aware of the judgmental stares and whispered comments, and she yearned for deeper connections that transcended surface-level interactions. Her quest for acceptance became an inner conflict as she fought against the dissonance between who she was and how others perceived her.

The Search for Authenticity

Now at 17, Opal stands at a crossroads. She is determined to embrace her identity fully, seeking to carve out a space in the world where she can express herself without fear. Her journey is one of self-discovery and resilience, navigating the complexities of gender identity and societal expectations. While her upbringing was filled with love, the naivety of her childhood left her unprepared for the harsh realities of life.

Opal’s deepest desire is to find a community where she can belong—friends who will accept her for who she is, beyond the labels and stereotypes. As she confronts her fears and embraces her identity as a trans woman, Opal learns that authenticity comes with both challenges and joys.

Aries Blake Z. Choi

Royal Expectations and Early Life

Aries Blake Z. Choi was born into privilege as the eldest daughter of Franchesca and Jei, the revered king and queen of Skellari. The royal family was known for its elegance and adherence to traditional values, with Aries groomed from a young age to embody the perfect princess—graceful, poised, and utterly feminine. Franchesca envisioned her as a model for future queens, draping her in silks and teaching her the art of diplomacy, etiquette, and the intricate rules of courtly life.

Yet, Aries felt stifled by these expectations. From the moment she could express herself, she gravitated toward more unconventional pursuits. She preferred the company of noble boys, racing them through the castle gardens, and found delight in activities that were deemed inappropriate for a princess. Whether it was climbing trees, honing her skills with a sword, or engaging in friendly brawls, Aries was fiercely independent and driven by an internal compass that contradicted her royal upbringing.

The Burden of Princesshood

As she grew older, Aries’s rebellion became more pronounced. At age 15, she began to fully embrace her identity, sneaking out to taverns and horse races, immersing herself in the gritty reality of her kingdom. She found solace in training with local knights and honing her combat skills, becoming one of the most formidable fighters in Skellari. Her younger twin sisters, Sasha and Soleil, looked up to her, drawn to her unorthodox spirit and adventurous nature. But their admiration only intensified the pressure on Aries to conform.

Her parents, frustrated by her disobedience, pushed her harder to fulfill her royal duties. They arranged formal lessons and meetings, attempting to mold her into the ideal princess they envisioned. But Aries was prideful and determined to carve her own path. While she tried to honor her responsibilities—attending court, participating in royal events, and offering her insight on governance—she frequently made blunders that resulted in financial mishaps and political faux pas. The burden of expectation weighed heavily on her, creating a cycle of frustration and resentment.

The Breaking Point

At 18, Aries’s persistent failures culminated in a significant misstep that hurt the kingdom's economy, leading her parents to temporarily strip her of her ruling duties. This act felt like a personal betrayal; despite their love, Aries saw it as an indication that she would never meet their expectations. Enraged yet powerless, she turned to the escapism of taverns and brothels. There, amidst the raucous laughter and the dim light, she attempted to numb her pain and escape the suffocating grip of her royal obligations.

In these establishments, she adopted the persona of a carefree rake, mingling with women and indulging in fleeting romances. But this was merely a façade. The revelry offered temporary relief, but it couldn’t quell her desire for acceptance and understanding. Aries felt trapped in a gilded cage, torn between her yearning for freedom and the responsibilities tied to her royal lineage.

Searching for Identity

By the age of 20, Aries was still sidelined from active ruling, allowed only to consult on matters of state but unable to make decisions. This new reality only deepened her sense of alienation. The girl who had once dazzled at swordplay and charmed with her audacity felt like a shadow of herself. She struggled to reconcile her identity as a princess with her fierce independence and unyielding spirit.

Aries's relationships with her sisters became more complex; they adored her wildness but were also envious of the freedom she seemed to pursue. In contrast, she began to fear that their admiration could turn into disappointment as they witnessed her struggles against their parents’ control. Yet, deep down, she still wanted to protect them and lead them by example, to inspire them to be fearless in the face of societal expectations.

The Journey Ahead

Now, standing at a pivotal crossroads in her life, Aries is determined to prove herself worthy on her terms. She is aware that her journey requires more than just physical prowess; it demands self-discovery and emotional resilience. As she grapples with her identity and navigates the constraints of royal life, she seeks a way to balance her desire for independence with her love for her family and kingdom.

With every tavern visit and every battle she trains for, Aries inches closer to understanding that her true strength lies not in conforming to the role of a princess but in embracing the fierce, unapologetic warrior within. Her journey is about defying expectations, proving her worth, and finding a way to protect those she loves while remaining true to herself.

Aries Blake Z. Choi is more than a princess; she is a fighter, a rebel, and a beacon of hope for those yearning to break free from the shackles of tradition. But, she was self-destructive, she is determined to prove herself right, she thinks she IS right at everything she does.
