I really like those hover effects. How do they work? Is it Javascript or CSS that does it?
And is your forum supposed to be minecraft themed? If so, I suggest adding more minecraft related content to the design. I also suggest getting a background pattern with just a tiny bit of noise. It can make a huge difference.

That looks quite nice, actually. The grey on black is nice and easy on the eyes.
