Cucumber_MelqnSo we've all heard about the 1.16.1 Nether update. We all have different opinions about it. Some are excited, some are disappointed, and some are very confused. Lemme rephrase that. Many are very confused. Since it's so new, no one even knows how to do it. But you are lucky because I have a lot of information about the new Nether update! Here I have added sections about different parts of the update below so you guys can choose which part to read about first! These sections have inportant information you need to know about the newest update so read carefully and ask any question in the comments below! I used the Official Minecraft Wiki as a resource for this information. I did not copy information word for word. Here's a link.
Striders

My Definition: Little creatures that make unique sounds that wobble and float in lava.
Common Questions:
Q Are they hostile mobs?
A No they are passive mobs. They do not attack players.
Q Are they tamable?
A They aren't exactly tamable as in like a pet, the are more like pigs. You put a saddle on them and ride where they go.
Q Can they survive out of lava?
A They can if they aren't in water/rain. They shiver outside of lava but do not die unless they come in contact with water.
Q Can you control where you ride?
Q What do they drop when they die?
A They drop 0-5 strings.
A Yes you can if you get warped fungus on a stick and hold it in your hand while you ride.
Interesting Fact: They can stack on top of each other.

A They drop either leather or cooked pork chops or raw pork chops or all of them.
A You can but they can escape from fences and will despawn without be fed/bred.
Interesting Fact: After spawning a Hoglin in the Over world or the End they will start shaking, then turn into a Zoglin after 15 seconds. Right Hoglin turning into Zoglin. Left Hoglin.

A They are not passive creatures. They are very aggressive
Q Can they be passive?
A They can be passive if you trade gold ingots with them. They also accept any of these other things here on the list. They will drop something in return but shortly after they will attack once again.
Q Are they at all like zombies?
A They are in one way. Baby piglins can spawn riding a baby hoglin.
Q Are piglins scared of anything?
A Yes. They are scared of soul torches and soul campfires.
Oddly enough the creatures get aggravated when chests (any kind) are open.
Interesting Fact: Piglins turn into Zombified Piglins when spawned in the over world or The End. They will lose all items and their inventory (accept for weapons).

Striders can survive out of lava, but they are damaged by water and rain.

Not for very long. They shiver and turn blue, then die. Try it.

They can survive out of lava and even in the overworld indefinitely. As domolas said: they are damage by water and rain.
Yes, they do turn blue and shiver, but being out of lava is not an automatic death sentence. Try it.
