It's about time for me to upgrade. I'm looking to upgrade the CPU at the moment, and I think I need to move from AMD to Intel (correct me if this is a bad idea). I don't really know what I need to do from here.

I found a combo deal on Newegg that I kinda like. It's a little above my price range, but I think I could do it. However, if anyone can find me a better deal, I'm all for it.

I'm not really sure what information is needed. Here's a list of my hardware. If you have any more questions, please ask!
----------
Radeon R9 270 (GPU)
2x 4GB RAM
Corsair Cx 500 (PSU)
2x 4GB DDR3
The case is from THIS computer, but I also have the case from THIS computer.

Thanks to everyone for the help

What CPU do you have right now?

Going to intel would be an upgrade, yes and you can find a i5 + z/h97 for around 300. Might even be able to fit in a cooler and be able to overclock the i5, but you'd be fine without overclocking.

My CPU is a Pentium E5400 @ 2.7GHz. I feel like going either AMD or Intel would give me a pretty big performance boost, but is my price range enough to move to Intel?

Yes, at newegg, it comes out right at 296.

unless you really need something from intel stick with amd plus theoretically a amd gpu should work best with a amd cpu? right?
