About to buy a $2000 computer..
Hey everyone, I'm about to make a $2000 purchase on a computer build, and would like some feedback on it before I make such a large purchase. I need it to run anything and everything at 60+ FPS, while recording on MAXIMUM settings all the time. I will be playing games like, Watch Dogs, GTA5 (When out), Skyrim, Battlefield 4, Arma 3, DayZ, and pretty much everything else on Steam xD
Minecraft MUST run at 60+ FPS with shaders and recording without problem.
Here's the build. I had it built on PMC before, but want one last review.

And yes, I know I don't need 32GB of RAM, but I want it. Don't question it, just accept it. Also, the max cash amount I can go is $2000. Thanks in advance!

The 32GB RAM is OP, but it is OK if you mind running a server for your YT subscribers. But, if not, don't, just don't buy it. Everything else is OK, but, you can also do something else: get 16GB of RAM and a 5GB GPU. I'm not an expert though.
1
There is no 5GB Vram gpu's? Well, not any gaming ones, that is.
1
The Video card is probably good enough to do that but over kill on the ram.. Hell.. 16GB itself is overkill for just playing and recording..
1
"probably good enough" What? It's one of the fastest single GPU's on the market. It's like, the 2nd/3rd fastest single GPU ever....
And ram has nothing to do with recording...
And future proofing is not very smart, right now anyways (other than new motherboards). Ram is about to go from ddr3 to ddr4. I'd go with 8 GB's for now, and upgrade if needed.

Eco212Assuming you refuse to take away the second stick of RAM, it's a good build.. But here's the thing. That will run all of those games on ultra 60+ FPS fine. But Minecraft Shaders are so badly optimised, it's really a hit or a miss. It either likes your GPU or it doesn't, you can't guarantee anything.
Yes many times speed doesn't only rely on performance but sometimes things just aren't very compatible, this is a problem with Windows 8 especially, I would recommend getting 8.1 if you like how the Windows 8 OS works.
1
Yes, it is op but we could be talking about the new PewDiePie here.

Anyone who thinks spending $2k is too much, think about this, great computer for gaming could lead to either gaming career etc. Like doing business's computer programs etc on it, owning your own company, anything is basically possible, heck even building and selling computers. 2k Is not a waste!
1
-_- I know plenty of computers that don't cost 2k that run all the latest games perfectly fine...and good luck with a gaming career lol chances of that are near impossible and again with a company you don't need that much power it's op
1
It's not that. At some point the diminishing returns is too much and the parts aren't worth the cost anymore.
1
Thats all that matters

Goku_LSSJCheesyRiceGoku_LSSJUgh I still disagree with wasting so much money on a computer -_-
invest
college
something to help be social
there's just so much stuff you can spend it on that's better
I get like maybe 1 grand but 2k geez
How is it "wasting" money on a computer. If I didn't like cars so much id say they were a waste of money. Perspective and opinion.
When you think about it...how will a 2k computer help? Even if you work with computers a 500-1000 computer would be fine...A car can transport you to work get you girls help explore the world etc etc
but i agree with you its opinion
I'm just giving him other suggestions so he doesn't make a purchase he later regrets
lol
1
If all you need is 60+ FPS on games you can spend WAAAAY less and use the money to buy something more practical.
My brother built a computer that runs all steam games and Minecraft at around 100 FPS for $395

Nothing under 1500 could run crysis 3 on ultra

He's taken care of everything. It isn't wasting, this is something that will be used quite often, and for fun/YouTube. Appriciate the concern, though =)

As long as you know what your getting into goodluck with the pc

If you already have a car *Meaning your over 16* why don't you ask some one with an actual profound knowledge of computers rather than a Minecraft forum?
1
Because a lot of us here have profound knowledge of computers.
OP: As others have said, 32 GB of RAM isn't necessary, but if you want to get it, no one's really stopping you.
I only have two suggestions: grab an H97 motherboard (or Z97, if you think you'll *ever* want to overclock) instead of an H87, so you will be able to upgrade to a 5th gen CPU when you feel the 4th gen one you're getting now isn't cutting it. Also, to save yourself some money, you could get an i5 for now, and get a 5th gen i7 when they come out. My other suggestion is to grab the retail copy of Windows 8(1.) (Pro?) instead of an OEM copy. In my opinion it's better to have a retail copy of the OS laying around instead of an OEM copy.

Why don't you help? You work at Intel, and you're "poor", and you got $20,000 worth of cards from a friend, that you just met, because a week earlier you posted saying you were depressed, because your laptop broke, and you had to move states. I can go on and on.
Plenty of us on here know a good amount about computers. And a lot of us are active on other bigger PC forums, and moved over here to help out.

I'm free... Someone finally said it. Thank you.
1
Because there actually a few of us that know what we are talking about.
1
Theres a ton of people here who know a lot on computers.
1
Build a Raspberry Pi super computer. Simple mini-super computer then you can control the worlds.....
1
All that money wasted on RAM? I am sad now
1
Solution: Make giant server on computer.
1
You should really get a CPU cooler since it's not on the list of components for your computer.
1
CPU comes with one.
@op you will not need 32gb for games, thats overkill for most programs that are ram intensive.

1
We will probably be going for 32 now, and upgrading later. We just want to be future-proofish lol.
1
There is no such thing as future proofing when it comes to computers. Your will never need 32gbs of RAM. 16 gbs will be more than enough. Getting more than that is just wasting money.
This is all he would need.

Future proof it? You won't be needing to upgrade past 32 ever. 32 is overkill in itself.
1
You don't need that amount of RAM, it's stupid. Also, for better performance, put all of your apps, and programs and OS on the SSD.
1
Some people dont need a car. Im living in a city and a car would only be a nuisance here. Public transportation is at a very good level ja alot faster and also it is free of charge for people who live in the city officially.
1
Why not save the money for a car and not waste 2k on a computer lol XD
1
Bikes for the win!
1
While I do agree with this extremely, he might be in a location where you really don't need a car.
Like, I live in a fairly big city, where residential and business are pretty far apart. If I need a job, I'd need a car. He could be living somewhere where everything is easily accessible.
That, or he's young, already has a car, or just really wants a computer.

Already have a car =)
1
Well 2k won't get you a very good car...
1
Yes it will...
(but with a computer + a 3d printer you can print a car... Kinda)

your funny
1
He got the point.
1
Why don't you get the unlocked version of the 4770k? And a z97 motherboard?
1
Don't want to be overclocking, id rather just leave it as is
1
Why not? You can afford it, so why not have the option to do it, if you change your mind. You don't have to overclock it
1
This is for my cousin lol he just doesn't want to be overclocking,
