AntVenom uses a program called DxTory, and it has no lag and excellent stuff like that. But Camtasia is unrecommended, as it may lag.

No recording programs are good. You need a good computer if you want a program like that to run smoothly.

A great one that's specifically made for Minecraft is Minema. It works great, is jerk free, and is really kind on your FPS. Not to mention the graphics it captures are superb. Here's the link:

My favourite is CamStudio, especially for mac as it does not lag, and can record very well with high quality. There is also an inbuilt video editor, including titles and such.

You can then post it to youtube or anything else without having to leave CamStudio.

I use Hypercam 3 and it's pretty easy to find a premium version of it and it records HD like everything else and doesn't lag as much.

Fraps is best. All pro youtubers use it. Syndicate, BlueXephos, Captiansparkles, Antvenom, ect...

I've used fraps and never lagged, really depends on your ram I believe ...

There is a recorder i have called ezvid it is really simple and easy to use. after you make the video you can instantly upload it to youtube ( even records your voice ) http://www.ezvid.com/

Bandicam has the annoying watermark at the top and Fraps costs money if you want to record more than 10 seconds, so I went with "Expression Encoder". It's a great but not that famous screen recording and video editing software by Microsoft that is completely free to use and is great. Here is the link:

If you have a Mac, there is a built in screen recording software with the new OS X. I beleive it's called Podcast Publisher. Just search it in the top-right corner. There is also a program called "Screen Recorder". You can access it like this:

I've been using it for some time now. I can record on my laptop that is two years old! So pretty good.

Fraps and bandicam are basically the same, its just bandicam has slightly less quality but it isnt a very big price to pay for free recordings, and they aren't laggy, you probably just need a better computer, like me :/
