Are these good headphones for a 150 USD budget?

Hey guys, so since my birthday is coming up, my parents are being nice enough to get me a laptop and new headphones, so I was wondering if this is a good set of headphones for a 150 USD budget.

Geezus, you people waste your money easily...
You can buy a perfectly fine set of gaming headphones at Walmart for like $25...
And yes, they have the same exact quality as the madly expensive things you're talking about...

No you can't, and they do not. I can attest to this as well as hundreds of other people.

Also, forgot to mention that most of the music ill be listening to is chillstep, light dubstep, and classical. Will the sennheiser cover those genres wel?

They'll be great for classical, but they'll lack some oomph in the lower frequencies for electronic (not a bad thing, it's quite balanced and tight)

On the other hand, for about $150 you have the HD 558, which sound better and are open. Where will you be doing most of your listening, OP?

In my room, if your wondering about echo conditions, all I can say that it echos with very low sounds. (I know this because my C string on my cello echoes alot)

Either my phone or laptop, mostly laptop because I barely have any music on my phone.

Then this would be your best option.

Also, I'm wondering if there is one that's a bit cheaper but still good, because I'm not sure that I care about super high quality, I just want it way better than my crappy turtle beach headset

Well I have a Turtle Beach headset, and I reckon it is amazing. I only got that for around 50 AUSD so it would be way cheaper in American Dollars.

They aren't. The build quality is terrible, the in line amp hisses, the neoprene pads aren't comfortable, the microphone is terrible, and the sound quality is also very boomy and veiled. OP also wants a pair of headphones, which always sound much better than headsets.

These would be a better option, they isolate more, have a more natural sound, and the soundstage is larger.
