i found a old mac at the flea market for 40.00.
it is a mac power g4

the only thing problem is it has a password that no one knows. i seen a video how to bypass it.
Would it be worth it to buy this?

You could do reviews about old computers.
Check "phreakindee" or "Lazy Game Reviews" on YouTube. He's got videos of vintage software, vintage computers or sometimes new software.

Like others have sad, I won't really do much but you could maybe scrap components and materials out of it and sell them. I have a friend that likes to make his own devices.

Buying that Mac and messing around with that old tech can bring you into the world of vintage computers.
It's your choice. Buy it or not.

A Mac G4 is a REALLY old computer. It was made between 2001-2003, depending on which model you have, it could be 13 years old It's PowerPC-based, so you can't play Minecraft 1.6+. This computer has equivalent storage to your iPhone (or other smartphone). You must also note that these computers have horrible CPUs and GPUs (by today's standard).
Tech. Stats:

In summary:
If you want to buy this computer, and use it as your main have fun frying your computer. Also, this computer cannot connect to most new wifi networks.
If you want to just expriment with it, go ahead. Have fun!

I could still play MC even if my OS was released in 2001, or does having SP3 from 2008 count?

If it's in good condition, go for it. Someday it might be worth something.

For $40, go for it. It will probably be fun to mess with.
Or you can restore it (if it's damaged in any way), and polish it up to look good as new, then sell it for a couple hundred dollars in a few years.

I'm sure it'd be fun to mess with.

Chances are the computer you're using right now is better than that mac. Unless you want to use it as a really crappy hosting machine it's kinda useless.
1
Well, you'd pretty much not be able to do anything on it, considering it's 15 years old, but if you want it, go for it.

Since it's only $40.00, go ahead!
