An SSD (solid-state drive) is basically a high-capacity flash drive that hooks up where normal hard drives do and functions as a hard drive. By high-capacity I mean anywhere from 8 GB to 512 GB.

if you want a customized gaming laptop with super specs and save some money go to ibuypower. i got my laptop there and there customer service is good plus you could customize it to your liking. Although just a tip, you may want to get a laptop fan for any laptop to prevent overheating.
Extra Note: Like the above, don't get Macs or Alienware because they are overpriced and usually they don't last long. Also try getting a SSD or else when you have tons pf games, you will notice performance drop.

Lucky has the specs right, and don't get a Mac or Alienware.
Also, make sure you at least read a few reviews about a laptop before you buy it.
Also avoid Windows 8, try for 7 or be ready to downgrade it to 7 yourself.

Alienware laptops and Macs are overpriced. Everyone who knows about computers will tell you that. I'd suggest an ASUS or Acer, as these are normally the best gaming laptops around.
Also, building a laptop normally doesn't mean to physically put the parts together! You could always order a custom one online.
Good luck!

Here is what you need for a good computer:
8 GB RAM (Memory)
750 GB Hard drive
An intel i5 or i7 processor (do NOT get an i3 processor)
The graphics card should be an nvidia GEForce; and never get a card under the nvidia GeForce GTX 660 (NEVER get a computer with an intel graphics card)
Make sure to do research on the computer before you buy

My suggestion is to go with and Alien Ware they are 100% meant for gaming and they have great specs depending on which one you buy!
