How about this build?
Hello all,
I am excited to start building my first computer. Looking on the Newegg website for parts, I found these. They are pretty good, especially for a build under $1000. I was just wondering if these parts are good or not. I am going to research further for compatablity, and everything is here except for an OS and a monitor. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Are you going to overclock? That GPU is pretty weak. An i5 should be paired up with at least 770 or r9 280x.

Everything there looks just fine.
I would bump the GTX 650Ti to a 660Ti
Also, there's no real such thing as "overkill" for a psu. It's called being safe. It's better to have a higher wattage psu that has extra power to spare than having it very close to the max limit.
I say that, but I'm running an i7 build with a 770 SC with a 600W psu...

Of course there isn't a limit, but there is always a budget limit, so that's what I mean by overkill on PSUs, unused power
I am using a i5 4670k @ 4.4GHz, and a 780, and I use a 750w, so like you said, being safe

Okay but if he gets 500w he'll be safe too, and hes spending WAAAY too much on the psu because its 80+ platinum!!
BTW get a 650 ti boost 2GB because its not that much more expensive than the 650 ti 1gb

Great build

760w is overkill and you can cut down on the motherboards price. you need 400w for this build so get a 500w psu

dw, a Gt610 can run Minecraft at 100fps + and PlanetSide low 30fps. I'm sure it will be fine. And yeah, the 730w seems a bit of an overkill.

Unless you're running shaders, the GPU hardly comes in to play on Minecraft, it's all on CPU power.

Try using an ASUS M5A78-M Motherboard and Gel 8GB RAM with s Verbatim 1tb HDD with a cheap monitor and keypad, same as Mine for only around £300

Unless you're going to be overclocking, which it doesn't look like you are with that CPU, or if you're going to be upgrading parts in the future, 760w seems a little overkill. And also, what CPU cooler are you using?
But for Minecraft and Planetside 2, this build is fine.

It sounds cool! Hope it turns out right!
