Acer Aspire V5-552G-X852 15.6-Inch Laptop

Is this a good enough laptop to run minecraft? Not just vanilla though, like modded/hexxit minecraft.
(At the moment I have a Macbook Pro late 2011 and I only get about 20-40 frames max on vanilla so I'm looking for something better)
If this isn't good enough can you please specify one that is or what I should be looking for. My budget is flexible but I would prefer to stay around $600, but could go up to $800.
I was looking at the IdeaPad Y410p Laptop - 59399853 but I really don't want to spend that much if I don't have too.

2.3 ghz intel core i5
4gb 1333 mhz ddr3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 mb graphics
There terrible but it works, also it won't screw your mac up because you are only changing minecraft settings. Unless you count turning "minecraft sound up as in screwing up your mac"

Ahhaha I am back and I found a way to make your mac much faster at running minecraft, Just follow these steps!
1) Locate minecraft, then right click the application and then click show package contents.
2) go into contents
3) right click info.plist and open with textedit
4) scroll to the bottom of the textedit page and the 5th line up will have a a thing that says Xmx128m
5) The 128 in that number is how much ram you are giving minecraft. You can change it so about 500 or even 1000 (depending on your computer)
6) Close it down and enjoy your new smooth minecraft
On fancy graphics I know get about 50fps

If you don't really need a laptop, you can build a custom desktop for cheaper -- It'll be more fun and much more powerful..
But yeah, that laptop is fine for MC -- Only thing wrong with it is the Windows 8, but that's just a personal opinion.

I also currently run on a macbook pro (early 2011) and it runs minecraft well, But if you would want more you can upgrade the ram and the vram. Ram is the power of CPU while the vram is for video. You would only need to spend $300 for toped up specs. The acer is ok but they have a lot of quality problems and will most likely fall apart on you in the next 2 years.
If you would like a Pc I would say go with a dell desktop. Desktop run much better then any laptop and are cheaper (although you need to buy a screen and stuff).
Good luck with your find and hope this helped!
