Suggestions for a good gaming/editing laptop under 800?

My current computer is dying on me and I'm looking for a new laptop. I've considered getting a desktop but am a designer and require portability. Any suggestions under 800? Or at least any brand suggestions? Macs are too expensive, as I'm a poor college student working a part time job xD

best option: build your own, you can find the tutorials online for different computers. BE SAFE, I electrocuted my self once (NOT PRETTY)
