Windows 8 is OK when you get used to it, but 7 will remain my favorite.it is far simpler than Windows 8. I think Microsoft just wanted a OS that would function with those new tablet-computer thingies, but the tiles on a computer without a tablet function are silly in my opinion
I never use the tiles, never. 7 was just so simpler, it will always be my favorite O.S, and I will not be upgrading my older computers
As for new computers,I have no choice (thus, why I had to get used to Windows 8 )

You cheaped out on the motherboard and forgot to add an OS. Windows 7 support ends in 12 days. You build a computer with it and something happens software-wise (blue screens, virus, spyware, etc.), you're out of luck. Microsoft will not help you.

Windows 7 support ends in about 2 weeks, so you should get Windows 8.1. It's great that you have a copy of 7 you can use, but it's my suggestion that you go with 8.1.
The RAM will downclock to 1600 MHz, but you may get the added benefit of a lower CAS latency with this setup. A lower CAS latency means the computer will be able to do CPU-centered tasks a little faster. I could have gone with 1600 MHz RAM, but this was the same price.

Doesnt matter if Windows 7 support ends and its free, plus windows 8 is garbage.

Eh, I agree if you have it already, then go for it, but Windows 8.1 is far from garbage. It's on average 10-25% better for gaming over 7, but everyone blindly hates Windows 8 because it's different.
