Transporting Operating Systems Across Machines?
Hey People
i have been trying to Google this subject for some time (no results)
Here's the situation
I have 2 laptops
1 Laptop has a Activated Windows 7 Home Premium
And my Second laptop has a Windows XP Copy
But i don't have a CD with the Windows 7 Installation on it
I want to know if there is a way i can Recompile my Windows 7 that is Already installed and transport it to my Second laptop and upgrade its Operating system From XP to Windows 7 without a CD?
Any Software or Leads on something powerful enough to do so?
I was thinking of moving my C:/Windows/ and appdata ect ect to the other PC Via Portable Hard drive
But i'm always sure that will just come up with lots of errors.

moving the files will not work
even creating a virtual copy og your harddrive will not work as dinwos stores many files a a way that can not be reached by normal means
you will need a dvd/flashdrive to install windows period
after that you can copy all your personal settings over from one machine to the other
simply copying the "c:\users" folder will do the job (make sure that all the programms you want to copy the settingsfrom are already installed)
