You might want to consider waiting until the Radeon 3xx series comes out for the gpu, though, since it's just around the corner.
It's $20 over your budget though.

Will do. Thanks for the tip.

Stick with the monitor in Woody's build Shad Murica. It's IPS and the one you chose is TN.

That's a sweet deal on an IPS panel, but it has a 6 ms response time. Still, one extra ms of response time for some better colors? I'd probably go for it.

This is actually slightly cheaper than the build above - Woody's build costs $1074.47 (before rebates, i.e. upfront cost), and this one is $1062.09 without mail-in rebates. Plus, you get dual channel memory, a better, quieter CPU cooler, and an ever so slightly cheaper monitor.

Had most of this together already. Credit to Randomness3333 for most of it, since he made it for someone else, and it has the same budget, so I just edited it to be overclockable, and threw in a monitor and OS.

Honestly, I'd advise against the 4790K- you said you plan on doing some video editing, and you'll be much better off with more physical cores. Of course you have hyperthreading with Intel's DC architecture for this component, but you can still get more for your money. Obviously it's also better for gaming, since we're now seeing games utilising more and more cores, so in the long run you'll want to pick up a better CPU. Not to mention the fact that $316.99 can buy you a much more powerful processor if you go down the AMD route. I'd recommend swapping out the 4790K for an FX-9350. In theory (I've seen some people do it, actually), you can OC an 8000-series CPU to around 8GHz, and you can push out even more cycles on a 9000-series. That's a blistering speed for any civilian PC, and you'll be able to edit pretty much anything. Obviously you can't put an FX CPU on that socket, you need an AM3+ mobo, so you could replace your MSI Z97 with an ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z, an absolutely amazing motherboard. If you follow my recommendations, trust me, you won't have any trouble with gaming, editing, or even rendering large files.
