at the moment i am stuck between the core i3 3240 and the core i5 3330
the i5 costs about 100 dollars (82 usd) more but i dont want the i3 to bottleneck my sapphire radeon 7790 oc.

To be honest, the i3 is pretty much an everyday browsing the web processor. Go for the i5 and if not go for an amd, the equivilent performance to the i5 is probbably the 6350 fx processor by amd.
