Hey! I'm just curious as to what people on Minecraft usually uses. I personally use Nvidia so that I can run shader packs. Shader packs really bring magical aesthetics to the game, in my opinion! Yes, I am aware that Minecraft itself is CPU bound.

Have a nice day!

I'm currently on GTX 650, plan to switch to Radeon RX 580 8GB - this is an amazing card for the value.

I think nvidia is better, but AMD seems to have less bugs with shaders.

Seems to be the opposite for me. My friend with AMD crashed three shaderpacks that I ran fine. Maybe you got a defective GPU?

I guess I was speaking mostly of shaders new and old. The old shaders were made for AMD cards, but the newer ones were made to work with AMD and Nvidia both. I actually have two computers, one with nvidia and one with AMD, and my AMD works great! But, there's also differences even in brands. Some Nvidia cards work a lot better than others for shaders even if their benchmarks are about the same.

Yeah, it's the Asus Rog FX503V, the model with 8gb of memory and a 4gb GTX 1050, this version retails for £999, the 4gb memory and 2gb Nvidia one for about £700 but I got this one under refurbished for £615. When it arrived from Laptops Direct it was all in original packaging with not a single scratch or blemish, what a lot of people don't realise is, refurbished often means buyer just sent back untouched with nothing wrong or, last of stock. Very pleased with it's performance running Minecraft, my Photoshop applications etc. I've bought many rigs from Laptops Direct over the years and never had any problem ever with them or the purchases, recommend.

It's dual fans are strategically placed apart from each other also, I've run this for over 24 hours and it's barely got hot at all. So far not had to over clock it either.

If you're using Quadro or Tesla, use "Nvidia Other," by the way.

R9 200 Series Vapor X, (Very good for an old card) I can run GTA V, Arma 3, ETS2 and plenty of other demanding games at ultra with 60 FPS comfortably, most people like to brag about FPS but its practically usless unless you have a 4K monitor anyway cause anything higher than 60 FPS on a 60ghz monitor means your game is running faster than your monitor can display so your movement etc will not be synced.

Yeah, however, there is a thing called input lag. I cap my fps at 80 at all times because it helps with input lag. If I capped it at 60, it will dip to 40 quite often, I'm not sure why. You know, like in Optifine/1.12.2, it's like "60/40" fps. It's usually 80/60 otherwise, that's why.

Currently I'm down to 13 gtx1060 6gb (incl 2strix), 5 gtx1070s, and two ROG strix gtx1080s. All of them are getting old and keep burining up fans.

Left over GPU mining rigs/ at peak I had two more rigs than now. Getting ready to sell off everything except the 1080s. I'll keep those for video rendering.
