People don't like them because they are overpriced. that is all
any other way, they are great computers and they come with a few starting programs, like a recording software.

If you think the christmas lights on the side of the case are worth the extra $500 then nothing is wrong with it

Really overpriced.

They aren't bad, but you can build better
Although I absolutely adore the case of their newest desktop!

Alienware computers, regardless of what people say, are very powerful and can handle games very well.
They're also owned by Dell, so you know the quality of the components and quality of customer service is great.
However, they're massively overpriced, and for that reason, I'll never get one.

Alienwares are overpriced and force you to pay extra to get unnecessary parts i.e if you want a good GPU you have to get the computer with an i7 when i7s give no performance increase in gaming over an i5. Plus you don't have much upgrade room with an Alienware.

Cheap parts but they make you charge alot for the computers
1
Overpriced
Made by dell
Poor price/performance ratio
You're basically paying for a bunch of flashy lights, a weird or "cool" case and a logo.

The original ones where great because they looked different from the rest of computers at the time. Now they are just another computer. Not to mentioned they are overpriced and built to break.

It is only the Price, They are a little bit over priced. They are really good computers and Dell does a great job making them. People with more money will be willing to buy one. but people without a job are not making a lot of money, they would rather learn and build a gaming pc. I would love to build one. but I also want to get an alienware. I hear they are excellent computers and everyone I know who has one, Loves it, they only complain about the price.

ONLY thing wrong with them is the PRICE.
I had a MX17 laptop by them for 2 years, one of the best computers i have had, but chose to build another custom PC rather than upgrade to a new alienware after it was getting sluggish in gaming. (was on 24/7 and battery and HDD was dying)
People who say they are crap quality dont know what they are talking about.. For Alienware you are paying for the Price and the ability to Gloat over a Highly priced gaming laptop...
Back when gaming laptops started to come out they were the best and close to the same price of a PC with same specs, but with all the new gaming laptops and prices for PC parts its not worth the cost to get one unless you really want it!

Alienware is overpriced, even for a gaming laptop.... Just too overpriced.... I could get the same performance on another brands gaming laptop for cheaper.

This
I don't have an Alienware, I have a sony gaming laptop. My friend has an Alienware, and our computers run pretty much the same. Alienware's are overpriced, but they aren't bad.

Overpriced ( A fact! )

I love my Alienware and could care less what people think of it

Mainly because they're incredibly overpriced. In aus, Dell is basically our leading brand here. For us Alienware is considered a higher market item because we don't have access to as many amazing parts as the rest of the world. I have an Alienware, I adore it. Yes, I paid out of my tush for it but since I had that money ready to spend it was ok by me. A lot of lower income / no job teenagers/students/people aren't really able to afford it here but still consider it a decent piece of equipment. Plus we get full customization if you know where to buy it from, you can change it in as much that it's basically just the case that's the same!

Their pretty chunky and heavy for a laptop...

Horrible. Overpriced. Pieces of poo.. #buildone #notalienware #caprisun

Alienware are just overpriced for what they're really worth. When it comes to popular computer brands and manufactures, you're really paying half the cost for the name. Origin computers is more indie and worth the money. Sager aswell.

Mhm.
Buy a Dell with the same specs. Probably cheaper because you're not buying the brand.
Even better is to build your own for even less if you have the know-how.

Really expensive, building a custom computer with equally effective parts could cost half as much.

me1001Alienware is much overpriced. I could buy a dell computer with same specs and $500 cheaper.
Essentially, when your buying an Alienware, your not buying an over-the-top gaming machine, your buying a brand name, with some "mid-ranged" rebranded parts that Dell couldn't otherwise sell for some reason.
If your looking at an alienware computer, your better off just building your own.
