Which build should I go with?
I am trying to decide after days of dedicated research I have come down to these two builds. If you would like to leave a recommendation that's fine but please don't exceed 800$. And don't vote if your just an Intel or AMD fan boy. I want a poll based on what is best.
AMD: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ColbaltHD/saved/3tEP
Intel: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ColbaltHD/saved/3uEn
READ THIS: I updated both of the builds a lot. AMD is really finished but the problem is with Intel. I NEED TO GET A OPERATING SYSTEM IN INTEL BUILD WITHOUT COMPLETELY CHANGING THE BUILD (Or the case :3)

For the Intel build i would recommend a better motherboard, it is definitely worth the money to upgrade. I think this one would do...
ASRock
B85M Pro4
it fits in your case and is compatible with everything.
but, overall i think the Intel build is better.

I'm not good with this stuff but I'd go with Intel.

I would go with the Intel build, just because of the great video card, R9 270X in it. I own that card myself and I am really pleased.
I wouldn't go with that case though. Looks ridiculous and is really expensive. As long all the components fit it's great! Looks doesn't matter, although that case is a laugh..

I build computers as a passtime, if you would like me to help you get a build setup, i can teach you how to build it if needed. Pm me on skype if you would like to talk = Macutus (Eddie Fishy)

Amd is good you are on a budget, but amd takes quite a bit of power compared to the i5. You do not need a cooler for the i5 3570k, the stock cooler works just fine for me and you'll be fine with no overclock on it. Intel has better single core performance than the amd CPUs also, but I guess that's why Intel is a bit pricier.

AMD and Intel are mostly the same thing. However, the Intel clock speed is somewhat faster. Intel also has 8 cores, whereas AMD only has 4 cores.
But AMD is cheaper. Also, AMD is easier to overclock.
I've got an AMD build computer, (AMD 10 6500) and it is great.

No way for amd, Intel all the way, a mate has an 8 core AMD and it is no where near as good as my i5. Even he agrees, intel all the way
1
Ok, I don't want to rant but just telling me Intel is better does not help me at all. And do you have a better graphics card then your mate? Do you over clock? Does he have less ram? There are so many variables that you are missing. Just saying an "i5" does not help me at all. You sound like a fanboy.
1
Not in this case. The Intel build doesn't have a CPU cooler, it's just going to overheat. Overclocking is out of the question.
Hehe, no. This is a gaming computer. Not a casual internet surfing one GPU and CPU are always going to be the highest priced components.

A cheaper video card

If I were you I would go with the Intel and get a little better motherboard but a cheaper video card. And maybe refund those savings into other stuff. And remember you still need an OS, Monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc.
1
With only 800$ I wouldn't spend 250 dollars on a video card, but that's just me.

Okay, this is the build I configured for you:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2EBPk
Explanation:
CPU: This is practically the same thing as the one you had, except it is locked, meaning it cannot be overclocked. You could not overclock with the board you had selected, anyways, so I assumed you did not want to OC.
Motherboard: H87 is a much better chipset than the H81 which you had, and this is a reliable board for your build.
Memory: Crucial's memory is just fine and saves you a few extra $$.
Storage: WD 1TB drive was fine. Added a 32GB SSD to store the OS and possibly minecraft on, trust me these things are worth every penny spent.
Video Card: A 760 is overkill for an $800 build, and that money is best spent elsewhere; the 290X is a nice alternative.
Case: You said you really liked this case so I kept it.
PSU: 500W is perfectly fine for this build, and the deal on the 600W one ends today, so if you are buying today get that instead.
Optical Drive: The one you had selected was fine.

Why switch a 760 for a 290x ._., the 290x gets extremely hot and it is super loud. Also he will probably want more than a 500 watt psu if he is EVER going to upgrade (a 770 takes 600W at the least)
1
That Intel build can't overclock so don't get it. You need a z87 motherboard and a cooler to overclock. As for the AMD build you going to have to get an OS too. The one you currently have can only be used on your current computer.
1
You, I like you. May I have your brain?
1
I'd give it to you but I don't have one.
1
Just go to walmart they have everything, I got mine on sale for like $9.99
1
No CPU Cooler for the Intel build?
1
There was nothing to drop and still make it in the 800$ range (I love ze case) ;3
1
Well, from what I have heard across the forums it seems that Intel would be the more powerful build but I could not tell you accurately.
