Did Mojang already Leak the End Update?
On April 1st, 2024, Mojang released the so called 'April Fools Potato Update." This update added a new Potato Dimension, with everything themed as potatoes. This update very much was not extensively tested and worked on- its supposed to be a joke, but some features of this update intrigue me.
First off, the Flotato Block grabs my attention from the start. The flotato is a cloud-like floating block that does not need an adjacent block to be placed down, making it to be able to be placed in the air. The Flotator is a power source for these, and can push flotato blocks much smoother then a flying machine can. Like pistons, Floatato have a "weight limit" on how many blocks will "stick to them," but that is a useful nerf, and you can just link many Flotato and Flotator blocks to make a massive machine.
This item seems a little too polished for a joke update, and it could be a strategy of Mojang to test popularity. If everyone loves the item, then they can consider it for their next updates, but if everyone hates it, its just a joke update- no one will really care in the long run.
Another addition to a future End Update will probably be a new type of boss. The "bosses of Minecraft" are the Ender Dragon- a easy fight if you know what youre doing- just shoot the crystals and wait for the dragon to perch and blow its brains out with beds, the Wither- a two-stage boss that has a flying and a "grounded" stage, making for the need of two strategies.. or just spawn it under the end fountain... The Warden- almost a boss in that it has boss health and abilities, but it has no reward for killing it. Instead it is meant to be an avoidable mob to make looting ancient cities hard. The Elder Guardian is considered by most to be a mini boss- 3 of them guard an ocean monument, and they will drop the Tide Armor trim sometimes, as well as sponge.
But so far, there is no many stage bossfight that progressively gets harder- and the Potato Lord is an example that- a giant potato that spawns potato minions that have to be defeated before it can be damaged each stage. When it is defeated, it drops the potato staff, that does extra damage to potato mobs. This fight is very interesting and would be a new challenge for stcked endgame players, or extremely skilled mid-late game players. Also, to all who say this would defeat the purpose of a sandbox game- you can just run away if you find youre too undergeared for the fight.
Finally, The Potato Update added a grappling hook object to the game. It is very fun in game and although it wouldneed a significant nerf, like durability, but it would be a fun rare item to be added to the end and give a level of risk to travel that way.
All in all, leave your opinions below and vote in the poll.

wasn't the brewing stand thing for potatoes basically just making vodka
Using the AFJ updates as a sounding board for ideas is not unreasonable (although it would involve a filter for only a certain portion of the player base to be polled).
An alternative hypothesis (also not provable), is that MS/Mj is using the AFJ updates as a dump for things that got coded but didn't (for one reason or another) work out. (From an accounting perspective, this might avoid having to write off the costs of those things as they could be expensed as AFJ PR instead.)
On the gripping hand, there is nothing to prevent a mixturte of the two from occuring…
