Diorite, either you love it, or you hate it.
Personally, I think it is a block of bird poop.

It's not bad. I certainly used to love it. It seems better in small amounts mixed in with other blocks though.
What is 'amusing' about the diorite haters is that quite a few of them like andesite, which diorite can be used to craft.
e.g. Iskall burning stacks of diorite then lamenting the need to go hunting andesite.

one of the denizens (Iskall85) has a legendary hatred for diorite, hence Diorite → Iskallbane

Polished diorite is a really underrated block and is a very good quartz alternative for broke people.
Normal diorite.. Well it has some uses. It's not that horrible in my opinion.

Diorite needs to stop getting hate its not that bad of a block, plus polished version is nice
