Rock. Metal is basically someone yelling in your ear, what AlphaCobra said. :l

I prefer music I can understand. So rock music for me.

I love modern retro rock (oxymoron FTW). You feel like you should just lay on the floor of your room with your iPod in, wondering why they only have 5 blades on a celing fan when you're listening to the Black Keys. Metal however is great Zombie killin' music.

Lol yes it is.

Rock by far - most metal is too much screamo IMO, "Smells like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana, if you haven't heard it, you haven't lived.

None, I hate all music.

Rock; though I can enjoy metal if it's the right song... Rob Zombie for example, I think is awesome. Overall however, rock music imo is far more enjoyable for me, whether it's bands like Paramore, or even bands like KISS or Radiohead...
To be fair, imo rock music is more diverse than metal.

SpartanSkeleton_DioM_Such eloquence, subtlety flows like wine into the chalice of a drunk!
First of all, lol, that up there made me laugh. Second Dubstep is a very cool type of music, other than that, I myself think Rock is beter than Metal, I love AC/DC
I'm glad I amused you.

I don't listen to either (I listen to hip hop and techno), but I prefer rock. Anyway, heavy metal music is a subgenre of rock :/

See i think when you use a computer to make the music for you it isn't music.

Id say rock then metal, as for you gamerzem dubstep is not a real genre its some bulshit electronic mess that somebody made and decided to call it music.

While I myself dislike dubstep, one could use a nicer way of saying so. If you believe it to be nothing more than an electronic mess, why shall you not try to create a track yourself? You'll see that it takes a bit of skill.

I prefer a select few metal bands, mainly August Burns Red, Emery, The Devil Wears Prada..
A few others, too, but such are what've managed to scim off the top of my mind.

I side wholly with metal; It's an ambitious umbrella genre that encompasses everything from the old classics of NWOBHM (Maiden et al) to some of the most extreme music ever produced in the realms of black and death metal.
It's also an home to a polarized fanbase and ambitious musicians, which easily sparks interesting debate, between "old school" traditionalists and avant-garde (or otherwise innovative) artists. So many bands come to mind in the black/death realm, from Sweden's Hypocrisy, Dissection, Watain, At the Gates, Norway's Emperor, Darkthrone and Gorgoroth, France's "Les Légions Noires" scene, and a whole host of American/English/Teutonic thrash/death metal bands.
(And in the black metal realm, an overwhelming emphasis on both Satan and folk themes.)
