I see all of these mediocre RPs, coming and going, making a mess of the recent posts, and not being very interesting (IMHO, some people may feel differently). Surely I'm not the only DnD nerd here, and although DnD never really seems to hold up online, does anyone want to try a campaign?
We would really only need 5 people, myself included. I can DM or play, I've been on both sides. The players would have to be at least semi-intelligent, not as run of the mill as most people on a RP here. The DM should, well, be able to DM. Keep the players on their feet, keep the story interesting, allow for some exploring, don't focus on just fighting, or just diplomacy, yada-yada-yada..

Yeah it can be hard, but it can be pretty rewarding. Once you get the mechanics, it's fairly easy, and fun to manipulate them.

Its cool if you've never played before, the resources to learn are in this page and the last. I can dig up some more if you need them, and I can answer any questions you have. If you have any preferences on edition or setting, let me know (otherwise it'll be 4e(I learned on it, but I don't have much a preference)).

for those new to playing, don't worry about the mechanics, let the DM handle that. Just ROLEPLAY. DM will tell you what dice to roll to see if you can get away with what you're trying to pull off.

I remember I once attempted to have a group of friends regularly play DnD, but sadly they all dispersed for X reason. Point is I would love to join this valiant group of adventurers.

I think i get it, so basically you got on an edventure and eventually the DM will get you into senarios and these will have set rules to make it random and fair, like monster will have health, damage modified by dice etc? it that is close then i am happy

OK, how's this? The first 5 people to send pm me their character is in (to start, as schedules seem to change too often). 4e characters, as nobody as given a preference. I very much enjoy backstory, though don't get too crazy (I had a friend who made a rape victim... The character was female, the player was male... I'd prefer to avoid that again...) If the character has an evil alignment of any sort, you'd better have a really god reason to back it up.

I was planning on 4e, but if you're whole-heartedly opposed and no one else cares I'm fine with 3.5e. You can send me the character anyway you want (pm on this site, dropbox if you want to send a file, I don't really care). No roles have really been filled yet, so you can rather wait, or pick your favorite now.

I would like to play the cleric. But there is a catch. I want to be a kobold. You can start me out with nothing so that will make it even for a special request. I plan on playing him as a good one or neutral depending on everyone else.

Sure for the kobold, though you're going to have to tell me about any attributes you may have because of it. Be sure to pick a deity, there are too many people who just say "God" when they play cleric.

I'd love to play DnD. I know nothing of the rules and systems of it, but I get the gist of it. I played it once with a couple mates using shadow realm (I think) rules. It was really fun. If you're willing to take a n00b on board, sure!

Password doesn't really matter right now. I trust you guys to make a character (though I will question straight 18s). You can type using adobe reader by pressing "sign,add text, or send a document". Give me a minute, and I can figure it out for acrobat.

I realize the PDF may be hard to use, so I'd like to clear this up: you don't have to use the character sheet, I just need the basic info (stats, gear, powers, backstory). You can even do this in notepad, or in a comment like this. Keep in mind though, you would record things, so you need to be able to access it. I was building a character sheet system in Java a while ago, i stopped because the guy started acting like an ass a while ago. It's also a ton of variables...

It isn't that hard, it takes about 10-15 minutes at most, not even really.
