I've been playing Minecraft for about six years. I've created lots of survival servers for fun over the years. Do people still like well-knit Minecraft community like servers with like a survival world, creative world some mini games but the emphasis on survival?

I feel like most of the community for vanilla survival has moved to Bedrock, since it's way easier to spin up a world for people to join, and more accessible from multiple devices. The SMP servers that still exist on Java have either been around for a while, or are purpose-built for existing communities. Trying to start one past 2012 or so has been extraordinarily difficult.

Late reaction but: most definitely. There's nothing like a nice evening playing survival and exploring hidden caves with my friend(s), especially if we're talking about ravines and there will be bonus points if it also has an abandoned mineshaft somewhere (I love those).

To me the best servers are those which provide a bit of variety. I especially enjoy servers which allow you to play both survival and creative alike. It could even be a win-win because buildings which were made & designed in creative might even be useful for the server itself.

The server I currently frequent even gives players access to /fly (if you ranked up highest or if you become a supporter). Which, for me, seriously enhances the game even more. Now I can fly around to look for nice spots, and when I find one I turn fly off (so I also take fall damage again) and start exploring and playing. I love that: being in full control over my game.

It also helps me to continue to enjoy survival even after a long session in creative (single player).

But yeah: survival ftw

I completely agree. Sometimes it gets tedious but then I have an idea or suddenly want to meet a goal and it becomes just as fun.

I can't speak for everyone, but I will :P

I think that this is still the big, key community thing (Survival) It's pretty timeless when the community and server are loved and well taken care of. Are you trying to get back into creating these said servers? :3

People love good communities, no matter the gamemode. In fact, as newer games have come and gone that has been the main appeal of minecraft and what it's survived on.
