Confoosing.. I'd say 2 holes though, since most standard straws do in my opinion.

Not all holes have 2 ends. A Straw does though! Let's use a Cup for example. The top part of a Cup is one hole, but the bottom of the cup is filled in. So therefore, it only has 1 hole.

But for Straws, they have 2 due to the part at the tip of the Straw and at the end.

That's not to say it just has a 1 hole, but openings? I'm not sure lol.

Because there is technically one hole?? There's two openings, which all holes have, but there is one hole through the straw.

Definition according to merriam-webster:
1. an opening through something
2. a hollowed out place

I'm going with one hole. The space in the straw is just one hollowed out space.

I mean, think of a torus or a donut. It has two sides, sure, but you wouldn't say there were two holes because the hollow space is linear and connected.

It's a piece of plastic wrapped around itself to make a tube shape.

There's one continuous tunneled hole through the plastic. They're mad with a single sheet of hot plastic wrapped around a cylinder.

No idea. I'm thinking a singular hole that simply extends all the way through.

Two holes. One on each side... I think?

A straw is a hollowed out cylinder that has 2 holes so one can suck liquid from. But then again I think it’s also a flat piece of plastic wrapped around, so there could be only one.

See now I say one hole because I imagine it as follows:
Imagine a sheet of paper. You punch a hole into that sheet of paper. One hole.
If I keep adding sheets of paper with the holes cut in the exact same place am I adding more holes or am I just lengthening the singular hole. I say lengthening of the singular because if you mesh all the sheets, there's no telling where one starts and the other ends and a straw for me is a Cylinder with two openings.

Word vomit.

How many holes do you need in the bottom of a bucket for water to fall out of it?
Something with one opening would be a cup, a straw has two openings, and thus, a hole.

there is a hole at the bottom and top. if there was one hole, no liquid would be about to travel through.

...What do you think a hole is?

I'm not answering one way or the other, but...

How many holes does there need to be in a bucket for liquid to fall out?
