Draylona + Wierdude199 judging details

Hey guys, I have just finished judging one of Draylonas and Wierdude199's projects called ModernTopia(Old vs Modern) Redstone Battle. http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/ ... ne-battle/ The results are below, telling how well I personally though the project was. Leave a comment on how fair you think it was, or if you think you should add something more.
NOTES TAKEN
- Spawned in meadow
Water house
- Serious redstoners use 1 pulse ticks. Work on that
- 2x1 piston door flus is not fast enough. Takes long time. I like how you use 2 signals to open them separately.
Main house
- House is made out off wool. Does not look good.
- HOUSE IS TO SIMPLE! USE MORE EPIC DESIGNS!
- No cake in chests. Work on that. ;D
- I found a button that does nothing. -_-
- Epic arena, pistons rise. Cool, but use storage pistons to push them up to make 2 block high.
- EPIC SECRET CHEST! I TOOK ALL THE EMERALDS! MWA HA HA! >:D
- broken 2x1 door, not seamless.
- Chairs rise automatically! God has answered!
- Tv doesn't work. -_- silly humans.
- more hidden chests. I took all diamonds! >:D
- Couldn't get out of secret room once gone in. Work on that.
- elevator did not work. Guys, come on!
-elevator is not an original design (I've seen it before.)
- It was raining when i got to surface.
- I found snowballs on ground. Don't litter!
- (Back in house) Cool pool entrance.
- Glowstone goes up and down in pull. My pool is now dirty. -_-
- Fences rise and fall.
- (Upstairs) "Nothing in this room capt!" (Reply) 'No s**t sherlock!"

- (upstairs further) Nothing.
-Further: Nothing.
- I had fun jumping off the building
-(Shrine thingy) Very cool spa, i like that. Because you can with from heat to cold, I like that.
- Is not proper triple piston extender! D: Redstone deduction!
Creativity- 8: I like what ideas you had and how you put them to use.
Redstone- 5: Sadly I expected more out you guys. The redstone was surprisingly simple.
Design- 5: The house looked cool, but not awesome. The wool was not a good block choice.
Interior- 7: I like how you set up everything inside it was cool.
Complexity- 2: The world was hardly complex, but it was pretty cool. Work on more complex designs. And make them faster.
Total- 6: Overall, I think you earned that 6, but you could of got better. (Not I didn't use mean to calculate total. Well if I did, not purposely.)
I think the project was a good idea, but you should try to keep trying in the world of redstone. Move on to things that inspire you, and create things worth creating. Make maps which none have before, and remember to stay original. Remember this, and you will succeed!

Okay here we go weird dude,
Notes:
-i like that you spawn in a boat bye the house, but i think the boat looked a bot more like a space capsule
-walking across the dock the house looked a bit weird, I feel like the iron wasn't a good choice for a cozy house
-exterior is a bit lacking
-I liked the dance floor, well done
-it took me a few seconds to realize that the lever opened the welcome-mat
-i loved the interior design of the cave, feels more modern than cozy
-nice bathroom
-enchantment table is a very nifty redstone creation
-I liked how you labeled the switches
-i couldn't find a way back up without flying
Overall:
Creativity: 7 -good ideas, awesome redstone, needs some major exterior work
Redstone: 9 -very fast and efficient, a staircase to go up and down would have been nice
Design: 2 - the exterior looks like a afterthought at most, the boat is a bit... weird
Interior: 6 - very nice, feels a bit empty in some places
complexity: 7 - very nice redstone, lots of things i have never seen before

Yeah, yours was a bit better with redstone and architecture.

-Spawn in room with hidden pool door. Neat, but double piston extender flush would of been cooler.
- Goes to ocean.
- (Going outside) Pathway is cool
- (Inside) Cool disco floor.
- Press a button and go outside to hidden dungeon. Cool, but was hard to find.
- Hidden door is not seamless!
- (Down hole) Cool light effects.
- Choose from dining mode and movie mode. Very nice!
- Cool tv. Works straight away.
- Noisy. >:I
- (Hallway) Not seamless hidden door. Is flush, and relatively fast.
- Cool shower.
- Bedroom is epic. Hidden useful stuff and bed. Unfortunately, useful stuff isn't flush.
- NOTHING IN CHESTS! I got diamonds and emeralds from draylona! >:I
- Cool architecture.
- Cool enchantment table switch. I like how you used a bud (Not on monostable >:( ) switch to turn on high level enchantments.
- Hidden potion room (I took everything >:) ) Automatically gives stuff. Redstone is compact, and as far as I can tell is your design! Nice work!
- Epic bedroom, I really like the architecture in here.
-My Minecraft crashed. -_-
- (Back where we left off) No bud on music disk
- MINECRAFT CRASHED AGAIN! GEEZ
- Crashed again.
- Finally bud worked on music disk thing. Opened secret room.
- I found jakobs graffiti .
- Cool party room, nothing special.
- Cool pumpkin under the sea
- (Going down hallway to pool) Such a long walk! D;
- Pool is cool, but no redstone. Hey I can rhyme!
- No way back up to surface. (Had to fly back up)
-FOREST IS ON FIRE! D:
REDSTONE
-Hidden door in spawn room is seamless and fast. Nice.
-Disco floor can not be turned off. redstone is fair but not amazing.
- Redstone for hidden door is not very good, and door is not seamless.

- Uses pulse limiter to spit out block turning on lights. Nice!

- Bud is really cool idea, I'm gonna use this in my survival world. I like the idea! (enchanting.)
- Potion room is compact and good redstone. Not amazing, but good. I like it.
- Master room is amazing, especially the architecture. Bud is pretty dull, nothing much to the room considering redstone, but it is alright.
- Party room is dull, only lights.
- No redstone in pool area.
Going back over everything, I really liked this house, it was cool. Unfortunetly it didn't have a crap load of redstone (xD), but I liked it. What I hated about this world was how laggy it was. My minecraft crashed 15 times for that single map. I can work with memory cells, but this is laggy? It was probably because the forrest was on fire. So I have thought of all this, and put together a set of scores for it, based on the template I used for draylonas score.
Creativity- 9: I loved the ideas you had in your world and how you used them! It was great!
Redstone- 6: When going through the world, I thought it was originally really cool, however when I looked at the redstone it wasn't as great as I thought it would be.
Interior- 9: I loved the designs you used in making the house, especially the master bedroom, it was awesome!
Complexity- 4: The house wasn't very complex, even though it has some cool ideas in it.
Total- 7: Overall I give the house 7, which I thought it deserved. By the way, I was not using mean to generate the total score. I simple gave it myself.

Okay so i have completed my judging as well
My notes were not nearly as elaborative as Lolda's but here they are:
House is well built, good materials for modern
House needs more vertical support to seem visually pleasing (less overhangs)
Some redstone is showing through the windows
When sink is in normal position, the secret door is open
jumping down the secret door hurts you
I couldn't find a way out of the chest room without breaking some blocks
to use elevator you need to stand in the middle
the hot/cold tub design is very nice, i may use it in some of my houses
i love the idea of the wave pool, but it is ver difficult to swim in it
Tv works, but i don't understand what it is showing XD
Overall score (following Lolda's template)
Creativity- 8 : very nice, many ideas that i have never seen before
Redstone- 6 : a bit slower than what i expected, allot of the surface redstone is showing, you can see redstone through the windows
Design- 7 : reminds me of my early work, the upper floors need more support (either columns or more rooms on first two floors)
Interior- 6 : empty floorplan (very modern) but needs some more beds and couches and a dining room in the main house, kitchens are awesome
complexity- 5 : I am not a redstone expert but you have some very nice devices. If you could make them a little faster and hide the redstone i think this would be epic
Overall- 32/ 50

Wait, but, Notice it was "MODERN"? Most *all* modern houses are wool and sandstone. TV does work! It takes a couple seconds to work in cinema. IDK why, it just has a little spasm then starts. The hidden room you got stuck in was a trap. And the top floor also has lights XD
