I think I understand your pain, at least a little bit. My best and only friend lives 300 miles away, and I see her only a few times a year. Of course, we have always lived far apart from each other, so I never had to go through the whole process of moving away or anything. Also, my two older sisters are away from home 5 days every week at a boarding school, and though they come home on weekends, the rest of the time I barely communicate with them.
If you have your friend's email address, you can always send him emails to let him know how things are going. You can also talk to him on the phone, over Skype, or chat with him using a social media website. Heck, if both of you have Minecraft, you could arrange to play on a server together!
And you never know what might happen in the future. If his parents are friends with yours, maybe they could arrange a visit over summer vacation. Anyway, good luck

Sometimes bad things happen in life. But we can't let them bring us down. Make new friends but still keep in touch with him.

My best friend(Love you Chaerokk!) lives 1700 miles away. We talk and game all the time and it makes up for it so much. Stay in contact and it will be awesome. Join a clan together, so y'all with both still be in contact, but it will help you make new friends. I hear there are some awesome Multi-Gaming Clans.....

It's not so bad, I'm in Virginia. It's a decent place, it's just a little harder to earn grades till next year.

Don't worry too much about it. A year ago I had to move 300 miles away from my friends and most of all my best friend (but we're still in contact everyday). It's really distressing, especially if moving to somewhere you aren't familiar with, so try and keep in contact with him as much as possible.

It won't be as bad as it sounds, how far away are you from him? You could try and arrange to meet up every so often, and you should definitely use Skype and whatever else to keep in contact.
