I'm quite happy that Planet Minecraft hasn't gone the way of Minecraft in requiring a Microsoft account or Minecraft Forums with requiring people to sign up with their Google or other big tech accounts.

Having an independent account with just a username (ideally without email being a requirement) is best! Also securing your account database is easy with bcrypt or argon2 so I don't know why all these sites are ditching their own native accounts.

I'm just glad that we don't need to depend on big tech companies just to use Planet Minecraft & I hope it stays that way.
