Guys, Mojang did something incredibly cursed and I think you should know about it.
So I know I'm supposed to be like away for a while studying this magical rock I found. But I just heard news of a new cape drop and I'm actually like stunned!
They plastered Jack Black's face on the new cape's elytra, and like you can't even play this off as an "oh, that's just Steve from Minecraft" because it's just simply not blocky enough to pass as that, they specifically went for Jack Black Elytra for this cape.
I'm just so confused right now, on the one hand yay free cape, but on the other hand EWWWW WHAT IS THAT?! WHY MOJANG WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! Lol it's just so cursed.
I even drew up my own concept of what it could be like instead of this, which I know they're not going to change it now that it's already being given out but I can at least change it for myself by locally editing my files. (it's stored in the 4b folder inside of skin textures for anyone wondering, at least for me that's where I found it)
Also I made the portal on the cape like a normal nether portal, like I get it's supposed to be a cape based on the movie to hype it up before release but blue just doesn't go with an obsidian portal frame imo, it blends in too much with the blue sky background behind it.
Honestly I don't know anything about Jack Black apart from like a few jokes about him and that he's been in a lot of movies doing the same sort of roles, I don't like hate him or anything but this is just a little weird to me. I dunno maybe it'll grow on me (doubt it) but the actual cape design is pretty sweet anyhow even if I kind of hate the Elytra lol
(there's 2 capes actually, this one which is a twitch drop, and then there's a tiktok one that's red and also has jack black, I don't use tiktok though so idk how that one works)

This is the kind of thing that happens when one lets those who know too little about the game (like how long the day cycle is) run things…
Aside from any other issues, this thing is just ugly. [No reflection on Jack Black, who is (IMO) a competent actor who has done some decent work.]

It annoys me how they try to force live action into the game, wouldn't be a normal steve better or the pink sheep? The sheep would be less cursed. Nether should contain the piglin guy

I think this is what happens if you run with a pair of scissors, I always heard that it was dangerous and I'd cut myself.
