I also have art class ! it's really fun to have multiple people to talk to and that can help with your art and/or give you compliments !

I think I was finally really jazzed about it when I was 21-22. So, about 20 years. That was 20 years of not ever stopping no matter how i felt about my skill level though.

Some days I still hate my art. It just takes a lot of time, passion, and patience. What helps me is remembering that I am improving every single day. Take something you made in the past and compare it to your present skills. Look at that improvement and remember that before you even know it what you make now you'll be comparing to future better versions. It's important to compare your art to others to see what you can improve upon, but never let yourself be discouraged by their progress. Some days you'll look at your art and you'll hate it, and some days you'll love it. Just remember that you will continue to get better. The only way is up.

i really do like some of my art, even sometimes proud of it.. but i'm still working on improving my art skill!
it took years to be where i am right now, and i finally am taking my art class and learning about ways that i could improve on that and this.
diagonal art, i am not so proud of i'm still so new to it. and i really would like to improve but how?
it takes years and years for me to be happy about my style. even if people dislike it, i am good. i may not be good at hands, feet and sometimes bodies but who cares? it's my art. and i made it. it's who i am, it's what i make. it's how i made it, and that's what i like about it. because nobody can recreate the original.

yes, i'm very proud of my art. it may look horrible to someone else's eyes but it looks beautiful to mine.

I hope, a lot of people work in such a way. So it is rather interesting to work on it.

It's not a question of when you start liking your art, it's more when you start liking it again. When you're young, you keep drawing scribbles and you're proud of it. Many people start thinking they can't draw at a certain age, but you just have to be proud of what you make. So yeah, I've always liked my art, but I always think about improving. Sometimes I like my old drawings better than my new ones.

So to summarize, your art is always good, but you just got to keep improving as you learn more.

I want to make a comment on this particular subject because the answer is complicated.
It's a combination of commitment and motivation. Using my skinning journey as an example, I started out with very blocky dark shading and limited knowledge. I often had to use other skins that others made to get inspiration. However once I experimented with something called 'hue-shift' my skins, and my time at PMC started to pay off. However this came at a cost, motivation. You'll see the improvement (for example from two skins I made for myself), yet you'll also see me complain about how long it takes to make my skins. Later on, I went off the site entirely, only to come back occasionally looking for lost motivation. And then, I found interest again. I went skinning again but with one difference, I was listening to music and sipping cold water to stay focused. This, and constant encouragement (especially from this person) made me want to come back. And I'm loving how I ended up. I'm certainly a long way away from perfecting but I'm fine with all the lessons I taught myself, and want to please my audience.

Too long, didn't read: Teach yourself how to skin using tutorials and other users! If there's a period where you don't feel motivated, find something that helps you focused and gives you enjoyment in your work!

I’m still unhappy with my art, but I think that I started being happy with my skins about a year and a half ago. I finally found a style that suited me which I both enjoyed and made some nice stuff. It did take a long time, but I feel the hard work payed off.

When speaking of my vehicles it was about a year. So, after I first started making vehicles it took another year until i posted my first vehicle (which was a telescope loader) to PMC.

All kinds of vehicles. Mostly ones that drive on land. I don't like airplanes and ships so much because they all look quite similar.
But ground vehicles can have any length, any width, any height, any shape and any color. It only depends on what the vehicle's purpose is ^^

I'm not an artist myself... I'm not sure if it counts but I made 3 hard dance music tracks a few years back and I find them to be absolute trash now that I've really looked at them objectively. Not that I'd be any better if I made any new music.

That can be really upsetting. You have the perfect idea in your head, but as soon as you try to actually construct that idea, you just can't get it to sound the way you imagined it.
