How do you read "lol"? Do you actually laugh when you say it

I'm just curious. Do you read it as literally "l.o.l"? Do read it as "lul"? Or perhaps you read it as "laughing out loud"?
Do you actually laugh when you type "lol" into chat or do you say it because there is nothing more to say?

I generally pronounce "lol" as "loll" (like saying "Lowell" really fast?) or the alternate form "lulz" (pronounced "lullz").
I'm studying Linguistics right now so maybe I should do my term research paper on internetspeak! =) And how it's use is being translated into real life....ooh, this is exciting!! XD

I pronounce "lol" as "lol", I'm afraid. xD Usually I use it when I'm amused - sometimes I actually laugh out loud, sometimes I don't. A lot of the times I just smile.

As a long-time user of the interwebs, I overuse "lols" way too much. I'm trying to be a bit more realistic or conservative somehow by using "haha" instead.
Still, there's nothing that can compare to an in-person hearty laugh.
I do use XD a lot though to convey that I am smiling really big.

Lol is a word where I come from, it means something like fun, nice. So I just say that...Lol...

Nowadays, lol is mainly used to be nice. If I were to say,
"Dude you suck!" without the lol, it would sound mean. However with the lol it sounds nice/sarcastic
