In the word scent, the C is actually silent. The S provides the "s" sound, and the C is there because of the word's Latin origins, where the spelling influenced the pronunciation in English, even though the C isn't voiced.

In English c is often silent, s not as much.
So I'd say c.

Cent with a "c" is money, so it makes sense that the "c" in scent is silent or else it would refer to currency rather than the smell of something

Neither and both.
You can pronounce it "sent" and "cent"
So both options are correct, but only one at a time.
Therefore it is in a quantum super-position breaking the laws of physics and spacetime, making this question impossible and fundamentally changing reality as we know it through the art of making a wall of text that nobody will ever read because I know you didn't read past the first sentence, come on admit it. Anyway did you know there was an old snapshot of minecraft that changed like 2 pixels of the minecraft dirt block? Yeah I didn't either, but you do now! But in-case you don't know what a "super-position" is, it's where an object is it multiple states at once, for example Child A Prime guarding door A, in universe 2, until un-observed is in the super-position of being | Displaced > and also | Alive >. I think. I don't know, I'm not sure. But it's really cool! It gives you a free migraine so you can get out of school if you want. As for the pronunciation, english is pretty freaking stupid. It's just a mish-mash of Latin and French, which honestly I might just learn latin instead 'cause it sounds cool. Anyway, how's your day? I've been pretty meh so far today.

The 'C'

Gratuitous citation
The unetymological -c- appeared 17c., perhaps in this case by influence of ascent, descent, etc., or by influence of science. But such an insertion was a pattern in early Modern English and also yielded scythe and for a time threatened to establish scite and scituate.
