Some of the advertisements on this site are not very appropriate. Today I found an add for a dating site and an add for a game featuring a girl that was barely clothed!
I know the site is aimed at Minecraft players, and minecraft is played by people the ads are targeted to . . . along with many many many minors!

And when I do see appropriate advertisements, they are for buisnesses that nobody cares about, or they take up half the screen!!!

We need to find a way to get the developer(s) of this site to change the ads

Advertisers use a lot of tricks like this to find relevant ads, even on new PCs.

Ads are based on browsing history... I bet you were probably on inappropriate websites as well like you know what

That's funny, because on a new browser with no browsing history, those ads still show up.
It's not based on browsing history.

Just get AdBlock on the Chrome or Firefox store. It's free and very reliable. I almost never get ads.

So, I'm pretty sure a lot of people know this already, but I'll say it again.
It does the add on what you search. For example, if I spend a bunch of time searching of movies, the ads will be a TAD bit relevant to movies. And I know this may sound odd, but Roblox has stuff in common with Minecraft, and if they see you search up minecraft stuff, they will most likely advertise Roblox and other Voxel games.

And truthfully, If your really getting something like porn its best to get adblock, or stop googling stuff even near relevant.

However, its not always based on this, and if you are getting ads that are inappropriate / you do not like, Adblock is recommended.

Alright, a majority of the ads are based on browser history, but we have had some ad providers who have a bad reputation. We don't really have control over EVERY ad on the site, but we have control over the providers.

If it really bothers you that much, clear your history and/or get AdBlock. But keep in mind the more people who get AdBlock means less revenue for the site. And that means Cyprezz will have less money to pay for servers, etc.

Gotta ask yourself, if given the option would you donate to support PMC? Odds are 99% of people wouldn't, which is why they have advertisements. None of this is free so if we need to see some ads in exchange for the services of this site, it's a price I'm willing to pay.t

Yeah, I suppose that's a possibility. Oh, well, it's nothing personal against PMC. Youtube doesn't get paid for me viewing ads either (although they're probably getting a lot more money from other viewers). It's too bad that I have to resort to Adblock because the advertising networks are so awful.

Aren't ads paid per click? I don't click on ads anyway, so PMC isn't losing money on me even though I do use Adblock. And targeted ads based on browsing history are trash. You could only go on Minecraft and Zelda sites and end up with an ad for some freaky game that you really don't want to see.

If the ads are based on your browsing history, then it would appear you are already looking at all this on your own, so you shouldn't be that shocked when it's seen here. Granted some of the ads are a little mature for most Minecraft players, but that's what adblockers and such are for.

Quite a few ads are random. I, for example, see very few non-scam ads. Most of the ones that pop up here are: 'your flash player is outdated, click here to update!' Or: 'Click here to learn how Billy Bob from Idaho earns $85/hour working from home!' Things like that.

But the site is known to be for ALL ages and i was told that.

And some people may not know/want/have adblock

And what your "history idea" is on A SHARED computer and someone elses history is there and a young child uses the computer it not only scares the child but can raise a bad kid.
And also if that did happen PMC would get sued. I think the site in my personal view should remove ads because no one even likes them and they get in the way of stuff.
And if it is all for money the people who help should e payed because they put a lot of time and effort into the site so in all it's fair and best ads are removed

First of all, people can't sue pmc because of a bad ad on their website. That person chose to type in planetminecraft.com, and click search. Secondly, an ad you see on a website when you're really young, is likely not going to make you a bad kid. By the time you're 13, you'll probably be mature or forget about it. Thirdly, pmc needs ads to pay for their site. Lastly, people don't have to upload anything, and they can make money off their submissions by adfly (If theyr'e over level 20)

I have met many thirteen year olds online who are VERY immature and even older who are. You obviously don't undertand and since i hang out mostly near my aunt who has children she would agree seeing a bad ad would indeed harm a childs mind. You are going off YOUR view but not seeing the many views of parents. And many others. Also and just get the money from a part time job or something? Instead of having god knows what ads pop up. And no one chooses to search PMC. I stumbled upon here by the minecraft forums on the wiki. And another time from skindex. So i did not TYPE IN AND SEARCH for this site. You obviously are using your own example and shoving it down everyone elses throats to say. :/ when in reality there are many different views.
