MC Pro Hosting is ok with not correcting their mistakes

The following is an exchange between me and an MC Pro Hosting staff member.


Me: I changed my card info and the old account was still billed. This resulted in an overdraft fee of $32 that I would like refunded. I am willing to accept it as a credit on my account.


Staff: Hey there Anthony,

I am quite sorry to hear about this. We actually do not currently cover any type of fee that incurs from your bank.

If you're referring to the payment that processed on the 6th, it is available for a 50% refund, however, the server would be terminated immediately.

Is this something you would prefer to proceed with?

Me: Wow, I'll proceed with getting my 32 dollars back. This was a mistake on your end, not mine. I will not pay for your mistake. I double checked my card info before I sent in the ticket and it is the correct card.


Staff: Hey there Anthony,

As I mentioned, we do not cover any fees that may be charged by your bank.
I would recommend contacting them so they can look into this fee for you as this is not something we can assist with!

Would you still like for me to proceed with the 50% refund for the most recent payment?

Me: My bank won't do anything with this because it was not their error, it was yours. If you won't do the right thing then get me in touch with your supervisor or manager. I've had this account for almost a year, don't make it end there.


I am yet to get a response to this. I sent another reply and it won't appear in the list. This may be because they haven't received it yet, but I am concerned that they have just decided to ignore me. This conversation ended just before 9 PM EST which is their closing time. If I get a response I will let you know what is said.


The option I was given to get $10 back and my server terminated is absolutely ridiculous. If I were to be compensated for the overdraft fee I was charged because of their mistake I will make sure to update this post.

Thank you so much for reaching out to us. My name is Dusty and I'm the Director of Operations here at MCProHosting.

I'm really sorry that this happened. Upon further investigation I believe I have found the cause.

The Manage Credit Card area of our billing panel is tied to our primary card processor. However, you had automatic payments set up with an old card processor that we are currently phasing out. A bug in our billing system allowed for your payment to be sent through the old processor (who had your old card information) when it should have been sent to our new processor with the updated card information.

Since there would have been no way for you to update the old card information or cancel the automatic payment without contacting us, I will happily reimburse you for the overdraft fee of $32. We have also located the cause of this bug and issued a fix for it.

The credit has been issued to your MCProHosting account and can be viewed from your account's dashboard.

I apologize again for the issue. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

MCPro is expensive and not worth it honestly, I can understand that entirely. Shockbyte or a budget host like Skynode are pretty good.

I guess I don't really fully grasp the situation but this really sucks. I would suggest getting all your files taking the 10 and switching hosts McProHosting has a lot of bad reviews anyways, try something like ShockByte, thats what I used and they were very nice and quick to respond about any problems/questions I had when I hosted with them!
