What do you think Minecraft will be like when it will work with AI (if that happens)? What's gonna change?

AI is wonderful in every aspect, so will only improve no matter what Minecraft will use AI with.

the only AI Minecraft needs is mob path-finding AI

I think it would be a cool addition to a lot of mods like civilsation mods and difficulty mods. Generally just having smarter NPCs would be a welcome change from where I stand; but tbf, the same effect can be achieved without the use of AI, so if the inclusion of AI will improve the overall experience of such mods – awesome! But if we just end up with a buggy and difficult to run mess... Yeah, then I'll stick to the mods without AI :)

I find AI a cool technology, but I wouldn’t want it to enter Minecraft.

just because you can add an "AI" (assuming the slop machine type here) to something doesn't mean you should. another rebranded ChatGPT clone wouldn't improve the vanilla game nor mesh with the gameplay's focus on human creativity. most AI-written stuff is infamously total bunk anyways, especially for something as abstract as this game. large wikis and extensive tutorials and your own brain exist to help you.

might just be me, but not everything needs to be "personalised" because it's creepy! not everything is or should be tailor-made for you. that's what mods do. realistically it'd be Snooper 3.0. I get wanting difficulty scaling, but there are better ways to do it that wouldn't spy on you (more) and turn low-end PCs into the surface of the sun.

if you mean the existing mob AI getting improvements NOT (somehow) via the slop machine, sure. that's had a long time coming. I highly doubt the chances of Mojang adding generative "AI" simply because it's the current trendy gizmo.

In my opinion, anything ai will add, would add more complexity to the game.
Which I don’t think fits with Minecraft's simplicity

I saw that they are working on an AI that gives you info about the game and also one that can help you with complex tasks. I don’t know if my source is reliable, but an AI like that would make the game less complex.

If thats true, i would definitely agree with you

I was was thinking more along the line of adding actual game content, rather than helpful game mechanics

Well, if they do that, I'm hoping that they can add infinite crafting recipes through AI. Preferably more things like food and weapons, but it could apply to other stuff too. The AI would have to be REALLY smart though.

If they use advanced AI, here's how it might affect in my opinion

AI could make mobs and NPCs behave more intelligently. Villagers, for instance, might form communities, trade strategically, and react differently based on how the player treats them. Hostile mobs might coordinate attacks, set up ambushes, or learn from a player's strategies.

The game could become more challenging based on player actions, with AI modifying difficulty or introducing new threats if a player gets too powerful. It could scale up mob behaviors or adapt dungeons to be more complex in response to how players play.

But again, it all depends on the ability of the AI they could use

So what you're saying is

the game would be Personalized

It's Super Mario 64 all over again.

Well, if they uses an advanced AI system then AI integration might would make Minecraft worlds feel tailor-made for each player.

Imagine logging into your world, and the NPCs, biomes, and even the challenges adapt to your playstyle, interests, and skill level. AI could watch how you play and make the experience truly unique—one that reflects your personality and decisions.

But I hardly think that this will ever happen, since such AI is very difficult to imagine although everything is possible in the future this is just my assumption

but if it did happen, it would make every copy of Super Mario 64 Minecraft personalized.

Yes but I don't think Mojang will ever go for this because Creating sophisticated AI systems requires significant investment in research, development, and talent. The initial costs could be high, and if the return on investment isn’t clear, it might deter the company from pursuing such features. In addition while personalized experiences sound appealing, adding too much complexity could alienate some players. If new AI features make the game less accessible or more difficult for casual players, it could lead to a decline in the player base.

And in addition to all this, add to this the high cost of the game, which will lead to a decrease in sales and a decrease in the player base, which can cause damage to Mojang.

True. The other problem is that the game might just seem boring to new players if it wasn't as challenging.

depends, probably the mobs might be glitchier as the AI might not be so advanced OR the mobs would have more possibilites

experimenting

doesn't mean they're leaving it in.
they also know it doesn't make sense to have AI for a game partially about human creativity.
