Even though it's not classic music, it's still music; music follows a certain form and has certain components, so if you can't play an instrument, don't think that producing EDM is easier.

NyxadfutureInfernoFL Studio all the way.
Also, a cheap synth and a MIDI cable might help you.
Yeah, I've pretty much got down what DAW I wan't to use. I was just confused on where official producers get their sounds from. Thanks! I'll check out some digital synths now. I don't have any hardware right now, just software. But when I do get hardware, I'll be sure to get a MIDI cable.
Yeah.
I have Yamaha YPT 220, but a lack of MIDI cable.

They use synths and mixing boards.

to make music just use note blocks! you can hook them up to a redstone circuit and can tune by right clicking. you also need to pay attention to lag and what blocks the note blocks are on, as these can make the beats off. for example, note block on grass sound different from note block on wood, or stone.

Do what you love, no matter if you struggle. Keep on trying and never stop!

Nyxad... Time to go back to reading my book on programming, to try and make my plan B happen. For the past 2 years I've been learning coding for a hope of creating video games, when about 4 months back I had a sudden interest for EDM instead.
If it's something you really want to do, and are passionate about it, then don't give up on it so soon.
I'm really thinking of tinkering around in trying to make some "listenable sounds" in the future. I'll be trying to follow Varien's tutorials to guide me along, although I know they can only get so far.

You'll have to scroll down to find a lot of the tutorials he did earlier (dunno why he didn't make a tutorial playlist). Give them a watch and see what happens.
I do want to advise, though, that trying to make a career out of it would be extremely tough. I know Mr. FijiWiji produces music on the side as a hobby, but not for his career, unlike another artist such as Savant.

Right, thanks for clearing it up about samples and VSTs and thanks for helping me out!
No problem bro And Z3ta (The plugin squareballs mentioned) is a very popular EDM plugin.

You're right about learning Music theory, there's really no way you can produce catchy-sounding melodies or basslines. And you should really learn how to program sound using VSTs. They come in handy for VSTs like Sylenth or Nexus. Lastly, try to get your hands on Z3ta, Sylenth, Massive, Nexus, and Kontakt as they are really really good Synths/VSTs for EDM.

Ok.
First) Samples almost NEVER work if you want to try and make beats from ideas in your head. Use plugins and such to make the perfect sound.
Second) To make good music, you need to know your music theory.
Third) Here's the part you're not going to like. There are not alot of good free DAW's, if any.
You're going to need money to make some good music (Yeah, sorry but it's true)
So if you want to start learning how to make electronic music, first work on music theory (rhythms, harmonics, scales, etc.) Second, start just playing around with your DAW, it will take alot of time to get used to it. Third, try not to use samples. Try to use plugins to make your own beats.
