Post how your poor gaming set up looks like! I bet there hasn't been a thread like this (not for poor people at least, for normal set ups I am 100% there is one).

Would you believe that I used to game on this?

It's a first gen netbook. 1.66 GHz single-core Atom (hyperthreaded), 1GB RAM, 160GB (I think) hard drive, and integrated graphics.

I didn't do much outside of Game Boy emulators and I attempted Minecraft and Halo (Halo was playable, but barely), but it served its purpose (though the battery is so old it barely lasts half an hour, lol).

I remember gaming on a dual core atom netbook (slightly better than your netbook) when my MacBook air broke. I played Minecraft at 12fps, other games just lagged out :L

Thanks lol. Although I am planning to get rid of them and just get a 29" ultrawide monitor which should be much cleaner and better for multitasking

For only a little more money, you could get a Dell P2415Q which is a 4K monitor. It would give you a lot more room over a 29 inch 2560x1080 monitor.

At 24" it would be a little small for 4k in my opinion. Not to mention my GPU can't handle 4k but would do fine on 1080 ultrawide

BananaInChargeMy desktop only actually cost me £300, my phone on the other hand wellllll I might have overspent on it....£480 is overspending when your PC costs £300 right?

I got my PSU from a friend and the HD 7850 I got from the clearance lines on http://www.overclockers.co.uk Although a mate of mine bought a 4k monitor from the clearance lines and it had dead pixels all over so it is really hit and miss with that.

Link to the album if that is easier to browse: http://imgur.com/a/26gnD

PC Specs:
CPU Intel Pentium G3258
GPU HIS IceQ iPower Turbo HD 7850 Overclocked to 1GHZ/5GHZ
Motherboard MSI Z97 PC Mate
RAM Single 8GB Stick of DDR3 HyperX Fury Blue
PSU EVGA 500W 80 Plus
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper TX3
HDD1 2TB Ultrastar Hard-drive
HDD2 200GB Seagate Hard-drive I pulled from a computer from 2005 with a Pentium 4 in. (I actually have the PC with me right now but forgot to take a picture of it)

The lights in my case are controlled by an NZXT Hue which is RGB but I just set it to blue for the pictures

The smaller 4:3 monitor is the monitor that was used for that 2005 PC I said about, the other screen is a TV from 2007 which is apparently "HD Ready" which usually implies 720p maximum but it handles 1920x1200 just fine. Although I play games at 1080p because of the better FOV you get with 16:9 over 16:10. The TV sucks for reading text on though, hence the other monitor.

The sound system, again, is from the old PC. It's an ADVENT 2.1 system, no idea the actual name for it but it is extremely good considering the size of the two speakers. Almost no distortion when playing loud music through them.

My phone is a Huawei P8 64GB and I'm a little obsessed with it. The camera is actually very good but I'm awful at taking pictures and my room lighting isn't exactly studio lighting.

My chair is a leather executive chair from Costco, it's really comfy and great for slouching in but it is a little low for my desk and with the TV being an awful TN panel, it means I have to sit up perfectly straight to get any kind of good colour reproduction.

Laptop is seriously awful. Like I wouldn't wish anybody this laptop, even my worst enemy. The laptop has an AMD E1-1200 APU and it barely performs basic desktop tasks. 6GB of RAM is good but since the APU can't handle multitasking, the RAM is very wasted. 320GB HDD is tolerable since all I've really got on the laptop is films and Microsoft Office programs. (It does not play Minecraft at even 30fps, which I still consider too low as 60fps should be the minimum for PC gaming)

Oh and the card reader has to be inside the case because it is a 3.5" just like a HDD so it doesn't fit in one of the 3 spare 5.25" drive bays I have. It fits perfectly in the tool-less drive bay slot though which is nice.

My case is also from the clearance section on overclockersUK it is the Xigmatek Cavalry - cost £20 when it is normally like £50 but I've literally never even seen or heard of anybody with it apart from me. Normally people are just like "what, are you making that up?" but alas, I am not making it up.

The Cavalry even has an orange supercharge USB on the front and dedicated little things to stop heavy GPUs from sagging, which is handy for me because the HIS cooler is bloody huge and weighs a ton.

Don't know why but I find your monitors somewhat cozy, again don't know why.
