[OOC] The Animus || Forum RP ||
SilentAeroAnimus Academy, the proclaimed best school in the entire world. The classes are insanely difficult, the students usually barely pass, barely anyone can even afford the dorms, let alone the cost to attend... Typically, the people in the dorms are either rich or only children. However, the town of Dalmasces has more than just the probable best highschool in the nation.
In Port Aisle Mall, at mid-night, it is said that the hidden room in one of the mall's alleys turns into the "Animus", named after the school. The Animus' lobby resembles that of a hotel. A large stair case starting in the middle of the room leads to a bright and shiny steel elevator. This elevator leads to all the floors in the Animus. However, the negative desires (greed, lust, ect.) of the people in the town are reincarnated inside the Animus' floors, reborn as Shadows. Normally, they're impossible to kill. Yet, with a special something, they're easily killable.
Certain humans posses "the potential", A.K.A. the ability to use a Persona.
Anonymous A Persona is a manifestation of a person's personality. A Persona is similar to a Shadow. Shadows are malevolent manifestations of one's inner thoughts, while a Persona is a manifestation of the same feelings but tamed and trained. If an individual takes up a resolution in his or her heart, the Persona will undergo a metamorphosis into a stronger form.
In order to summon a Persona, one must use an Evoker, though there are some cases where an Evoker is not required for summoning. A Persona can actually be artificially created, but because the Persona does not come naturally to its artificial user, it becomes violent and difficult to control; if the Persona-user isn't strong enough to hold back the Persona, it may even wind up killing the host. Artificial Personas can be suppressed by certain drugs, aptly named Suppressants, but use of the drugs causes fatal side-effects. It's possible for one to have the power of the Wild Card, meaning that multiple Personas can be contained simultaneously.
Recently, the Animus has had an over-flow of Shadows within it. Normally, they stayed within the Animus, as such was the purpose, but a sudden population increase in the world caused the Animus' walls to breach and leak Shadows into the world when the clock strikes Mid-night. Something named "The Mid-night Hour" was created to let the Shadows to kill those with The Potential yet didn't have a Persona.
At the top of the Animus lies the Sado Monolith, a large stone resting on the top of the Animus' roof. The Sado Monolith absorbs the sinning thoughts and desires and creates Shadows with them. Those without a Persona that go inside the Animus risk the chance of having their "Shadow" be created.
Anonymous The thing you saw two nights before, !?#$2%, was a Major Shadow, something a lot more powerful than any regular one. They are created by multiple Shadows forming together to emulate your inner thoughts and mock you, in hope that you would get infuriated and wish for something bad to happen to it-- probably to shut up, go away, or die. These thoughts would power it to an extreme form, but if one has 'the potential' your Persona ability would be awoken. Other wise, someone without potential would require someone with a Persona to defeat it, as Shadows can only be harmed by those with the potential. However, some people who have already accepted that their desires are immoral, like *7)!, only requrie the envoker to use their Persona, as a Shadow couldn't make fun of their inner wills due to his mutual acceptance with it.
With a new year of students arriving at Animus Academy, only the Midnight Hour can tell whether any of them can "save" the world from the Animus' breach...
Rules
[1:] Since the Animus Academy is a regular school, you must attend classes during the week-days unless there are holidays or other reasons. Repeatedly skipping classes will result in expulsion.
[2:] Do not be OP or have a Gary/Mary-Sue character.
[3:] Metagaming, bunnying, ect. = Big no-no.
[4:] Backstory must consist of at least two paragraphs. But remember, quality > quantity.
[5:] All things in your Application must be original, besides the obvious lore of the Persona Series.
[6:] Don't swear 'cho head off. Yo. Fo'sizzle.
[7:] Put "ALL HAIL JUNPEI" in the Anything Else. Do not ask, do.]
[8:] All IC posts can not be a one-liner. This IS NOT A BIG STANDARD. If you are seen posted one-liners, you will be warned and if you continue you will be "banned".
[9:] No, you can't be a super duper important-to-the-story-and-everything character. Unless you make an insanely good character. No, having a ten paragraph backstory will not automatically get you the status.
