To Texture Pack or Not to Texture Pack, That is the Question.
I am curious how many people use texture packs and how many prefer the way Minecraft looks "right out of the box." (pun intended)

I prefer texture packs like Faithful. They still retain mostly the style of the default textures, except they just make them a bit crisper and easier on the eyes. I've used Faithful for so long that the default textures look really bad to me now xD

I don't use texture packs, but do change a few textures.
Mainly these are functional (eg direction hoppers, adding arrows to the sides of observers, extending the 'sticky' to the sides of s-pistons)
although a few reversions to older (and better than the new) textures also slip in (connectted glass may fall into this catagory, YMMV).

I use a pack I made for myself which is basically Minecraft's new textures but with solely 8-bit color.

I mostly just perfect cartoony, simple packs that makes Minecraft an entirely different world/experience. :3

My answer isn't here. I like to use textures but nothing superheroes or pop culture, and nothing all too realistic either. I love well-made 16x packs which still have that pixel feel that default Minecraft has. 😁

Well, I do use a texture pack but the only thing it changes is the resolution of the standard Minecraft textures. I like how all the blocks and items look like but default textures are just too grainy. So, I use the "Faithful" ressource pack that simply raises the pixels per block face from 256 (16x16) to 1024 (32x32).
Looks like default but much better ^^
