yeah, actually we are... when the eastern seaboard blackout happened a few years ago (when the power grid failed and people were without power for 3-4 days) we were sitting on our front porch perking fresh coffee, nicely showered, with cold orange juice and hot bacon and pancakes... and all the neighbors were sniffing around, drooling...



I could have opened a coffee shop and made a fortune!

no, it's actually a full battery backup system for my PC in case of a power outtage. Heh.

and yeah, tsnman, see, I have gas heat & hot water and a bbq. The only thing I'd have to worry about in a blackout is the stuff in my freezer melting, and for that I have a propane-powered mini-freezer. I'd just have to eat all the ice cream to make space.....

(when your family camps, you wind up with lots of handy stuff in case of blackouts...)
