- Black beans
- Cheese (Queso fresco)
- Bread (pan bolillo or pan francés), which can be eaten with black beans and/or cheese and cream inside
- Tortillas, can be eaten in the same way as bread, sometimes with salt added
- Fried plantains (similar to bananas), sometimes eaten with cream or black beans as a kind of dip
- Milk
- Juices, could be orange, apple or peach juices or more tropical fruits like guava or maracuyá
- Coffee, which is pretty popular considering it's a coffee-growing country, typically drunk black
- Hot chocolate, with or without milk, typically (personally preferably) the latter

my typical breakfast is either cereal, or if i'm feeling fancy, an entire pack of bacon and two packs of cheese grits, and i make sure the bacon is extra crispy and use it like a spoon.
