Hope you like 1.8. Though other than the nether lag(Yes, it was in 14w29B. Really bad lag).

I like the new light source, the Sea Lantern. It's nowhere near as flashy as things like the Redstone Lantern or Glowstone.

Not bad. For some builds, I would use sea lanterns instead as well. But for creative, if I'm building something with lighting in the floor, I would use Glowstone, as nobody will think to destroy the carpet. But I still like the new block as well.
