desk is orange, but all my setup is white an blue (aside from a rusty pc from 2009)
My desk is black, my monitor and keyboard are also black, so I thought nothingness would be accurate

I don't have a desk, so "nothingness" is actually completely accurate. I always work on assignments on the dining room as my family tends to only eat there when visitors come over. (Though, that happens quite frequently!) The table is big enough that I can move between projects and models and not run out of room for all my materials.
Black (mouse, mouse pad, keyboard, monitor mount, calculator, and the desktop itself being the main contributors).
