What Should I do with $500?
So I recently ran into $500 and I was wondering what I should do with it. I don't need to save it. I like tech stuff like speakers, headphones, computers, and stuff like that. I was just wondering what I should get with it?

Start hosting a minecraft server?

Give it to the second person to reply to this thread.
But seriously, I would get some new gaming equipment, and put about $100-$200 away for presents. (Birthdays, Mothers/Fathers Day, etc.) Even if Christmas just passed.

Invest it.

Blow it all away in the Steam Christmas Sale. :^)

I'd suggest either using it to open a server if you like, or donate it to a cause. People all over the world are freezing and or starving during this time of year and I think this would give you an experience of a life time.

get a new computer

Invest it in me, or buy a new GFX card: (Radeon R9 Fury X anyone?)

The Fury X costs more than 500 ..
Anyway an upgrade to either your PC or maybe a new screen or chair is always good

It is just over £400 (I'm british) So I got a little confused

You could get parts to build your own Gaming Build, unless you already have one. If you are more of a console person, you could get a Gaems Vanguard, which is a portable console case with a monitor, so you can play your console games anywhere.

Save it in case you need it for later use?
In case something happens and you need to buy a replacement for something asap.
Or just use it later on, no need to blow it away directly...
(In general this is the smartest you can do with money you suddenly find)

you could always save it for something you'd want in the future. But if you want to spend it now, try a new gaming computer, or games. Or use it to buy 500 chicken nuggets o3o

If you wait a few months, you could get a flagship (or near-flagship) GPU from the upcoming lineups from Nvidia and AMD.

I don't think every Chicken Nugget is a dollar... XD

As Benamax said, see if you can upgrade your gaming setup with it. If you already have a decent one, there's a bunch of other options
Like Captainmurica said, Wait a while for the top-of-the-line GPU's to come out.
Or go for ergonomically optimizing your setup. Many people focus on getting maximum computing power, but forget how important it is to have an ergonomically good setup if you're going to spend a lot of time gaming.
I somehow managed to get a great (adjustable) desk and chair for a total price of less than $300, but my keyboard and mouse are basic (so is my PC itself -_-). My keyboard is propped up with a pair of college textbooks I never had to use. My mouse is about to die its so overused. My screen sits on top of a small desk cabinet.
If I had $500 I would be seriously conflicted whether or not to upgrade my PC to a decent level or get a top-quality keyboard and mouse, a neck-support modification to my chair and an adjustable stand for my screen.

Your future self will thank you! Even if it is spent on tech later, you will at least pay less than you would now and therefore be able to buy more stuff with it.
