What version of General Grievous do you think is best?
As far as I know, General Grievous has made three appearances. First off, in the 2003 clone wars miniseries, the Revenge of the Sith movie, and the 2008 Clone Wars TV show. I would like to know what you think is the best version of Grievous in terms of general awesomeness.
Personally, I like the 2003 Grievous best, but maybe that's just me.
2003
2005
2008

I wonder if many of you seeing this are even aware of the 2003 cartoon...

The 2003 version was the only one to properly display him for what he was implied to be - a nasty killing machine existing for the sole purpose of killing jedi and making full use of his resources. As a character, I think this is the point where he was best represented as a threat, as the threat actually worth being a very notable character in an intergalactic war between laser blade knights and endless hordes of droids. Not my favorite version as the animation style never interested me, but hey, doesn't mean I can't compliment the character.
Skipping ROTS for the moment and going straight to the Clone Wars. While he was not particularly impressive, he did have relevant roles and was able to hold his own. A brilliant superpowered warrior, perhaps not, but hey. He had his moments, and I suppose it doesn't take much to be at the top of the food chain given his underlings. He's good enough to deserve his presence.
The ROTJ version I cannot in good faith justify as being worthy. Perhaps it's because I am simply disappointed with the character presentations in general from the prequels, but I think he was presented too late and without any notable talents aside from having a voice that is quite unhealthy for an entity leading an intergalactic rebellion (not as the head, but as a very high figure) and simply running away. The greatest disappointment was his duel with Kenobi, where his supposed dueling skill and flashy tactics were so easily dismantled that it looked like Lucas wanted five minutes of flashy lightsaber spinning and then went 'that's enough, he can suck now'. The fight he poses is so abysmal, I'm shocked he was even considered a real threat in the first place. Garbage commander, garbage field strategy and not a very good warrior it seems. This version disappoints me, but I can say similar things about virtually every other character in terms of unrealized potential.

Good explanation.

2008 since in that gets a personality.
And while he is shown to be a coward who run and seems to be fooled quite easily at times, he is still shown to know how to fight and be a total badass.

To be honest my reasons for my vote for 2003 version are kinda like this:
-In 2003 he was just so awesome, maybe a bit exaggerated but who cares.
-Revenge of the Sith had a great look but he didn't get to do very much unfortunately in the movie, you never see him kick the crap out of anyone.
-In the TV show, he just sucked in my opinion, he never seemed threatening at all and never bested more than maybe a single Jedi, and only when the Jedi was also fighting off his guards. Kind of a bummer.
