I'd probably just freak out , or I might go and complain to the city council about having drains that big and demand a 'refund'.

I would start an intergalactic war between races, and make sure that one of the aliens high tech, non-money burning missiles blast the sewer drain clean off.

I'd grab a crowbar and wrench open the drain to get me money back, but why would I be carrying around 1 million dollars, how does a suitcase go down a drain, why is it not in the bank, if I was so rich and had 1 million dollars why would I be walking around a place with a drain...

I'd be really sad for a second then be really happy I wouldn't have to pay income taxes. lol

I'd hire the best hobo that knows the sewer and me and Hobo Jones would Venture down into the dark maze of sewer water, and slush, only to realize that a fan stalker was following us to the end of said maze, so then i hired the best fighter hobo to kill the fan stalker, then my hobo team and i continued down getting closer to the praise.

Claiming the money as my own giving a penny to the hobos for their hardwork.. and buy myself a lifetime supply of big-macs to mock my foes...

And to answer, I wouldn't drop 1m down a drain because:

1. It's extremely stupid to carry around 1m, especially when you are taking a bath or something.
2. It couldn't fit in without any sort of force pushing it down, even if it was a check.
3. I would probably donate 1/4 of it to some charity as soon as I got it, so I wouldn't have 1m to drop.
4. Deposit it in the bank! Who wouldn't?
5. I don't have another reason, 5 is a clean number though
