It depends, because some other animals also laid (and still lay) eggs, many types of fish for example. So if you mean "egg" in general, fish were first (I think), but if you mean "chicken egg" then I say neither, as feathered dinosaurs evolved into chickens, and laid eggs as well. So there is no exact point in time when there was the first egg or chicken. Just a long, long process of evolution.

Who cares? They're both edible.

WHO CAME FIRST? THE HUMAN OR WHATEVER THE OTHER THING IS CALLED

Chicken ftw

Most likely the egg because dinosaurs already laid eggs.

The egg had to have come first. At least the egg of the first creature that we called a "chicken" on the evolutionary timeline needed to come first. I mean, an adult chicken, or even a baby chick, can't just spawn into the world out of nothing.

I believe it's the egg that came first. It's entirely possible that the egg was a mutated version of a different bird's egg.

I think the question itself came first in the form of Witch should be first the Egg or the Chicken. Hmmmmmm.

This question basically boils down to if you're religious or are an atheist.

I believe the egg came first because one of the chicken's great dinosaur ancestors pooped out the egg that evolved slowly into the modern chicken. Plus, life can't just come out of nowhere. There has to be a source to the creation of matter, and since eggs have the ability to create life from cells stored on the inside, it is safe to say that eggs are responsible for creating life itself, thus the egg and only the egg came first.

But then another question: Where did the first egg come from???
2
I think two non-chicken animals laid a chicken egg and the egg became the chicken so therefore the egg came first? So, evolution was like "hey here's a chicken lol." I don't know, take it with a grain of salt but it's something like that.

probably some sort of dinosaur chicken which then created a slightly less dinosaur chicken and eventually the dinosaur chicken became a normal chicken
