Simply put if something works why not use it since the answer will be correct in the end. If I wanted to build a doll house or a dog house and I do not have or know how to read a tape measure I would use a string and mark it with a pencil to the length I want the boards cut to. Then I would glue them together. It would work so why not use hillBilly math? it works 4 me Would you use a string if you had no ruler and it still measured accurately?

I think using a tape measure would be a lot easier. I don't even think this is even hillbilly math.

"And if you can't read a tape measure". If you can't read a tape measure, you shouldn't be doing this stuff..

the method was reading a string instead of a tape measue so in a way the string is the tape measure right?
