Will You Update to 1.8 when its released or wait?

How many of you plan to update right away to 1.8 when its available? I for one have learned my lesson well about updating right away. Simply put, DON'T DO IT. Wait a while and see what other updates spill out to fix all the new bugs that are inevitably introduced with any update.

Absolutely going to update, the new biome codes look fantastic and I can't wait to build on new terrain sets. My server already has most of our important structures backed up in .schematic files for upload, so we should be able to start a completely new map and bring all of our old work back into it in less than a few days after 1.8's release.

Copy the .minecraft folder of 1.7.3, save it. then update and if there are already client mods out then i won't hafta revert to the old .minecraft

I just have a downgrader so i can go back to any version as i please :3

I'll do it. If no one is going to update, who is going to find the bugs? |D This is still in beta, after all, and the main point of them putting the game up is so people can test it. And I'll do just that. (I don't have any important saves at the moment anyway.)

i want to update, but if no server has updatet i go back to 1.7.3

meh i have a file and u know whats in this file? alot of .minecrafts i have a file names .minecraft1.4 this is minecraft1.4 so if i replace my current 1.7.3 jar ill have 1,4 i have 1.4+ so if i do update to 1.8 i shure as hell have 1.7.3 saved

I usually have two .bin folders, one for pre-update (Multiplayer) and one for post-update (Singleplayer)

This is pretty much the best way to go. If you have a backup up your current bin folder, then you can update and check the new things out without having to worry about broken mods and servers that haven't been updated yet.

Ehh, I might wait because I happened to buy MineCraft the day 1.6.6 went to 1.7 and was bored because I was playing singleplayer on my own on a pi-rated client since the browser version lagged so badly and I wanted to go onto Multi-player and there were no servers at 1.7 yet.

I have two computers, a labtop and a PC that I use for gaming. The Minecraft version on my labtop will be updated to 1.8 first. To tell you the truth, I'm a bit worried about NPC villages. It sort of takes the point of survival out of MC doesn't it? Nevertheless, I'll wait before I update to 1.8 on PC

Me and my server will be 1.8 on the day it is 1.8, due to the fact that only my admins are allowed in at update times (due to pluginless days)

I'm not doing it straight away. My server wants the plugins to update first, I want my mods to update first..
