I have an OK pc (i7 7700HQ, GTX1060). But I am still having issues running shaders in Minecraft. I can get around 90 FPS on other games (e.g. Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege) with high - ultra settings. For some reasons, I can only get a maximum of 30-40 FPS on the lowest settings. This doesn't make any sense to me. Do I need a better CPU / GPU for playing the game with shaders in a stable 1080p 60 FPS or my settings on Minecraft is not perfect?

Settings on Minecraft (with Optifine, 1600 x 900):

minecraft (block breaking) is cpu
optifine just optimizes that (so you are fine with your CPU) (any cpu can handle minecraft to the bare bones)

the shaders feature of optifine are almost 100% GPU based,... so yes. you will a better GPU or a lower end shaders

So what GPU do I need? 2 Titan RTX in SLI? I mean I already have a medium to good GPU that can handle most AAA games.

Interesting, with your setting(smooth lighting and render distance) I'm getting stable 60FPS on 1.22 Extreme, even with worse components:
Dual Core i3-3240 3.4Ghz and GTX1050Ti

It's worth to mention that I have 4GB Ram allocated to the game, maybe this will help?

I just found out that I can run shaders perfectly in a single player world and getting 120 FPS. For some reason, I cannot run shaders on multiplayer. Does the ping to the server (around 220ms) matter how fast I can load up a chunk and render?

I'm not sure, because I'm not playing multiplayer really often, but I think fps drop may occur because multiplayer is more dynamic, more things happen here.
